One of my little pre-COVID-19 rituals which I seriously miss, is my once a month visit to Edinburgh’s Zen Lifestyle for a microdermabrasion session which left my skin feeling brand new. I’ve been trying to replicate the feeling at home, so it felt like perfect timing when Ole Henriksen sent over their brand new Lemonade Smoothing Scrub.
Coming right in time for spring, the scrub is completely vegan, and is designed to instantly retexturize skin, reduce the appearance of pores, and soften skin. Using a mix of chemical and physical exfoliants, it’s an absolute joy to use, with a slushy consistency which is unlike any other scrub I’ve tried.
Obviously, it smells amazing thanks to the mix of lemon and sugar, and my skin absolutely loves it too. Even though it can get dry and sensitised, I’ve found it needs a good exfoliation, and this is it! I love the mix of grit and tingle. With the lemon in the formula, it smells absolutely beautiful, and the zesty scent is also the perfect way to wake up in the morning! Once I’ve exfoliated, I make sure to use a hydrating serum and moisturiser to really get the full benefit of the scrub, and my skin feels so happy for it!
