Working from home definitely has its benefits – I’ve had work calls with face masks on, I never miss the postman, and I get to choose what’s on the radio. I also get to enjoy copious cups to tea throughout the day, and since black herbal teas count towards your water intake, my desk never without a cup of it – and one of my absolute favourite treats is a freshly brewed cup from Edinburgh’s Eteaket. They release the most delicious teas seasonally, and their newest limited edition is their Gaba Oolong Tea.

Packaged in the brand’s cheery signature tubes, the tea comes loose, which you can steep using a tea strainer, or you can use one of the brand’s own plastic-free tea bags which you fill yourself. For chunkier teas like this one, I tend just to steep them.

With lockdown restrictions in place until at least next month, I’ve been trying to find ways to replace my morning coffee habit (as my nearest Starbucks is miles away, and there’s nowhere cute and local to visit). Eteaket’s GABA Oolong Tea has quickly become my morning go-to. I like mine piping hot without milk or sugar, so I can really enjoy the velvety, earthy flavour, but it’s also lovely with a slice of lemon in there too. It’s the perfect start to the day thanks to GABA’s incredible health properties – popular in Japan, the tea can help reduce stress levels, improve sleep levels, help to reduce depression, reduce anxiety, aid weightless and help the body thanks to numerous anti-aging properties! Rather a lot of good from a few cups enjoyed throughout the day!
Eteaket GABA Oolong tea is priced from £3.50 and is available here.
