Rodial Beauty at Harvey Nichols Edinburgh*

Rodial Harvey Nichols Edinburgh

So Rodial might be a brand which is well known for beauty products with rather catchy names which deliver results. So, when I found out that they had a makeup range, I got rather excited! What I didn’t realise is, that, for the past year or so, Harvey Nichols in London have been selling the range, and it’s been rather successful. Thankfully, for those of us living a little further north, Harvey Nichols Edinburgh have a  brand new counter devoted to the brand’s makeup, so when I was kindly invited to get my makeup done I absolutely jumped at the chance!

Rodial at Harvey Nichols

The makeup collection is a wonderfully curated set of must-haves which include a super light Instaglam Skin Tint which is basically an Instagram filter in a tube and an Airbrush Concealer which makes any imperfections completely disappear without looking or feeling heavy. I opted for an easy to recreate natural look, and I just love how subtle the products were, and I completely fell in love with the Glamstick Lipstick in Bite. It’s the perfect nude colour, and it feels incredible on the lips!

Rodial at Harvey Nichols goodie bag

As if getting my makeup done wasn’t amazing enough, I was very kindly gifted a goodie bag filled with some of the brand’s incredible skincare. I love how generously sized they are – I’ve been getting over a week’s worth of use out of them, and I’m absolutely head over heels for them!

Getting to try out products like the Pink Diamond Instant Lifting Serum is such a thrill. The full size bottle is a rather splurge-worthy £250.00, so getting to use the serum at home is a lovely luxury!  The Bee Venom Cleansing Balm and Super Serum are a gorgeous little duo too! They smell incredible, and are such a lovely way to feel awake in the mornings!

Thank you so much to Rodial and Harvey Nichols Edinburgh for having me!

Kahina Giving Beauty Fez Body Serum*

Kahina Giving Beauty Body Serum - Fez

When it comes to skincare, I can’t really remember not being interested in it. Before I was old enough to have my own, I dabbled nightly in whichever products my mother was using, as since I went away to school and university, I’ve pretty much guarded my ever-increasing stash with my life. Yet despite my rather pack-horse tendencies, I don’t think I’ve ever used a serum that’s not been designed for my face before. Thankfully though, Kahina Giving Beauty’s pretty much iconic Fez Body Serum has come to my rescue right in time for the increasingly cold weather!

Kahina Giving Beauty Body Serum - Fez 1

Packaged in Kahina Giving Beauty’s slick black packaging, the Body Serum is everything you could wish for in winter skincare! With a texture which verges on an oil (it was included in Vogue’s Top 10 Beauty Oils!), the serum feels like such a treat to use! I have been reaching for it after my nightly bath or shower, so that I can really enjoy the experience – the serum’s scent contains notes of  Rose and Orange Blossom along with hints of citrus and patchouli. The result is a wonderfully warm, almost smoky fragrance which feels incredibly luxurious and soothing to use.

As if the to-die-for scent wasn’t enough, the formula of Kahina’s Body Serum packs a serious punch! With a high concentration of argan oil to help boost skin elasticity whilst watermelon, sunflower, olive and coconut oils deeply moisturise. It leaves skin feeling absolutely incredible – so soft and nourished, and I’m addicted to layering some on after an intense exfoliation session!

Kahina Giving Beauty Fez Body Serum is priced at £85 for 200ml and is available here (UK) and here (US)

Soveral Angel Balm*

Soveral Angel BalmNow that temperatures have taken a distinct downturn, I’ve been extra careful to use as many hydrating products I can think of, and my cleansing routine has been no different – rather than foaming cleansers which can be a little drying, every evening I’ve been turning to Soveral’s Angel Balm.

Soveral Angel Balm 1

Much like the other Soveral products I’ve tried, the packaging of the Angel  Balm is divine. A box covered in the most beautiful butterflies holds a little jar of the delicious balm, as well as the fluffiest of face cloths. It feels like an absolute gift to unwrap!

Soveral Angel Balm 3

I’ve been using the balm every evening, and I am absolutely in love with the soft texture which melts away even the most stubborn of makeup (even mascara and eye liner)! I can really see why The Times have called it a ‘hero’ product.

Soveral Angel Balm 2

It’s the brand’s most popular product, and I’m really not surprised! Ingredients in the balm include cocoa seed butter, grape seed oil, avocado oil, and geranium oil so it’s an absolute treat for skin. I tend to use it nightly, but I can also use it as something of a face mask, just leaving it on for around 20 minutes.

Soveral Angel Balm is priced from £19.00 and is available here

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence*

SKII Facial Treatment Essence 2

SK-II is one of those brands I just drool over. Every product sounds pretty much life changing, and the reviews back them up, so when this special edition of their iconic Facial Treatment Essence came through the letterbox, I was more than a little excited!

SKII Facial Treatment Essence 3

Decorated with gorgeous red butterflies, the bottle is a special edition released exclusively to Harrods for the Holidays. You can choose from three colours (red, pink and blue) and they all have the most wonderful meanings. My red butterflies symbolise the ‘passion, courage, and boldness it takes for a woman to take control and change her destiny,’ which is a lovely little addition to a rather wonderful product!

SKII Facial Treatment Essence 1

The Facial Treatment Essence comes packaged in a huge 215ml brushed glass bottle, and it’s really something special. In my household, it’s become known as the ‘magic water’ because it’s so wonderful to use! After cleansing, I simply shake a few drops of the essence into my palms and press it into my face and neck. The formula is a touch thicker than regular water, but it feels so light and fretting to use, it’s perfect for waking my skin up in the morning.

SKII Facial Treatment Essence 4

The formula of the Facial Treatment Essence contains over 90% Pitera, an ingredient discovered by SK-II over 30 years ago which is hailed as something of a miracle worker! Discovered when the brand noticed the incredibly youthful hands of older Sake Brewers, Pitera is filled of vitamins, minerals and amino acids which work together to encourage skin’s natural surface rejuvenation.

SKII Facial Treatment Essence 6

Since the formula is so lightweight and pure, I have been applying it directly to my cleansed skin, and then leaving it to sink in. I then apply my moisturiser and makeup as normal, and I am absolutely in love with the results! In addition to feeling heavenly to apply, I’ve noticed that the Facial Treatment Essence has really calmed my skin down. If you suffer from breakouts or acne, just press a little of the Essence directly onto it, and wait for the results!

SKII Facial Treatment Essence 5

After only a couple of days I really noticed a reduction in redness, and a breakout I had was nearly gone. I think it’s safe to say that SK-II’s Facial Treatment Essence has become one of my HG products!

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence is priced at £140 and is available exclusively here

Sjal Skincare Bio-regeneratif Serum*

attachment

This year I turn 26 (eek), and I shall (as my mother keeps reminding me, hit my late-ish twenties. Quite frankly, I find this terrifying. My next big milestone is 30, and I feel like by then, I should be completely sorted out, but considering that’s only four and a bit years away, I need to get myself together! Thankfully, one of my smallest concerns is ageing – my skin isn’t too bad, but I’m always looking for ways to look as dewy and as natural as possible. After all, I don’t think anything looks as dated as a full-on face of makeup.

Sjal Skincare Bio-Regeneratif Serum

One of my most recent indulgences has been Sjal Skincare’s amazing new Bio-regeratif Serum. It’s one of the very few products which makes me feel like I can hear angels singing when I take off the cap! I am obsessed with the stuff! If you read my interview with brand-founder Kristin Petrovich (and you can here) you’ll know that Sjal Skincare skilfully merge the ideas of Ancient Eastern Medicine with the most up-to-date scientific thinking you can imagine. Their newest product – the Bio-regeneratif Serum is the complete embodiment of this!

Sjal Bio-Regeneratif Serum 1

The formulation of the serum is some serious stuff! It contains a unique Platinum and Peptide Complex which promise to lift the skin, assist with rejuvenation as well as to reduce wrinkle depth. Thankfully I’m not line-y, but I do have a paper thin line on my forehead which I blame on a youth spent outside. Since I’ve been using the serum, it’s basically vanished. My skin looks a whole lot brighter and healthier too! The formula is incredibly glamorous sounding – it contains a gemstone blend which includes amethyst, ruby, sapphire, diamond and tourmaline which have all been charged using malachite (the stone pictured). As if the anti-ageing properties of the serum weren’t enough – it’s incredibly hydrating to use. After cleansing I slick a couple of pumps on and let it sink in before following it with moisturiser. Despite being in and out of heating and air con all day, I’ve not had to worry about dryness or irritation, instead my skin just feels incredibly smooth and nourished. As if it wasn’t perfect enough – I even adore the delicate lavender scent which is super calming to use!

Sjal Skincare’s Bio-regeratif Serum is priced at £205 and is available from Harvey Nichols
