Harvey Nichols A Beautiful Mind Gift With Purchase*

If you’re in the market to treat yourself to some luxury beauty goodies, DO IT NOW! Today is the last day of Harvey Nichols’ amazing A Beautiful Mind Gift with Purchase. All you have to do is spend £150 or more across the store’s incredible beauty section (which, let’s face it, is easy to do) and you can walk away with this rather snazzy gift which is worth an incredible £230!

I adore Harvey Nichols’ GWP – they are always an amazing mix of brands, and full of really usable products. Past years’ gifts are the reason why I collect Shu Umera lashes like they’re going out of style, as well as lust after Sisely moisture masks. What I love about the gifts is how generous they are – these aren’t one use samples, instead I can normally get a couple of weeks’ worth out of everything, not to mention that there are usually a few full side products thrown in for good measure!

This year’s offering is incredible – it comes packaged in an adorable book-shaped box, and includes:

  • Benefit Instant Come Back Serum
  • Yves Saint Laurent Radiance 7 Day
  • Elemis Pro-Collagen Quartz Lift Serum
  • Lancôme Advanced Génifique Serum
  • ESPA Optimal Skin ProSerum Cleanser and Oil Duo Kit
  • Cover FX Primer (Knightsbridge, Manchester and online only.)
  • Clarins HydraQuench Cream
  • Dermalogica Precleanse
  • Laura Mercier Full Blown Suprême Volume Mascara
  • bareMinerals Deluxe Moxie Lip Gloss
  • Versace Eros Femme OPI Alpine Snow or Pirouette My Whistle nail polish
  • Beyond Medispa £130 Hydra Facial Voucher

Quite the haul! So, if you want to treat yourself, head over to www.harveynichols.com now!

Harvey Nichols A Beautiful Mind Event

Whenever I feel like treating myself to something a little luxurious, Harvey Nichols Edinburgh is always my first stop. The beauty hall is something to behold – all white and glossy and filled with the most marvellous cosmetics you can imagine!

So, you can understand how excited I was when I heard about last night’s A Beautiful Mind event. To allow you to  fully get to grips with everything new in the world of Beauty, Harvey Nichols sometime hosts evenings like this. They are such a wonderful idea – the rest of the store is closed, so you feel like you’ve been let loose in the department, which is just filled with experts and people as obsessed with beauty as you are!

Absolutely every brand in-store takes part, which means you get to have a chat with everyone from Chanel to Sisely, and if you are interested in any products, they are more than happy to let you play about with it!

Since most of the brands have new releases at this time of year, it is the perfect way to learn about the newest lotions and potions.

Throughout the evening there were demonstrations on everything from how to contour to fillers thanks to the store’s own MediSpa, and it was just blissful floating from counter to counter learning about what’s new!

Prosecco helped the evening to start with a pop, and those who were after a slightly more healthful option were catered to with Kale shots courtesy of Nails Inc and a whole selection of drinks from Tea Pig. (On another note, how awesome are the Nails Inc girls’ sweatshirts! I was severely jealous!)

I could have spent the entire evening swatching away, chatting about all the new and beautiful things which are new in for Spring! I have now added several items to my (already overly long) wish list, and I may have purchased a few of my new must haves!

*Thank you to Harvey Nichols Edinburgh for inviting me to A Beautiful Mind evening*

Mila Chiara Fragrance Diffuser*

Mila Chiara Fragrance Diffuser

I don’t think there is much that is more luxurious feeling than home fragrance. If I’m having a stressful day, it just feels heavenly to push open the front door and breathe in something lovely. Since I hate leaving candles unattended, Mila’s Home Fragrance Diffuser is the perfect option to keep your home smelling divine round the clock!

Mila Chiara Fragrance Diffuser1

Packaged in a stunning watercolour decorated box, Mila’s Fragrance Diffuser is just the thing if you want a constant fragrance. Inside the box is a stunning blue glass bottle which is filled with scented oil as well as a bundle of natural rattan reeds.

Mila Chiara Fragrance Diffuser2

Setting up the diffuser couldn’t be easier! All you have to do is pop open the bottle and arrange the reeds. For the first 24 hours, the reeds completely soak up the oil, and then you’re set – you can tuck the diffuser wherever you want the fragrance to emanate. My diffuser is the Chiara fragrance, and I’m absolutely in love with it – iris, jasmine, amber and sandalwood create the most luxurious feeling scent. When I unwrapped the diffuser, I knew the scent reminded me of something – and I’ve figured out what it is – Agent Provocateur’s Original scent. I’ve loved and worn than perfume since I was 18, so it’s lovely to have rooms which smell similar. I’ve tucked mine into my bathroom, and the whole room has stayed delicately perfumed with the Chiara scent – it’s seriously divine!

Mila’s £45.00 Chiara Fragrance Diffuser costs  and is available here.

Parissa Hot Wax*

Parissa Hot Wax 1

To say I can be picky is a bit of an understatement, and when it comes to things like my eyebrows I get a bit ridiculous. I think it stems from an experience with a rather over-enthusiastic nail salon where the girl literally razored my eyebrows when I had my eyes closed. Since then, I’ve gathered a few beauty gurus I can really trust, and in the mean-time I tend to get a little self sufficient.

Parissa Hot Wax

Thankfully, Parissa is making stretching the time between waxing appointments super easy with their Hot Wax kit. It’s salon-quality, so it really catches even the shortest or most stubborn hairs, and the set is designed to be used on eyebrows, face and bikini lines. Honestly, I haven’t been brave enough to try my bikini line myself, but one of my old roommates swears by it for at-home brazillians, so there’s that!

To use, you first need to heat the wax until it achieves a honey-like consistency. Parissa do make a wax warmer, so if you’re a regular diy-er, it’s definitely a sound investment. Since I only do small areas, I just heat it over my stove, until half is runny, then mix with a spatula until the entire pan is honey-esque. The wooden spatulas included in the kit are perfectly sized, and the double ended one makes careful application an absolute breeze. Before using the wax, I pencil them in so I can see the shape, and then, disclaimer alert, I get my mother to apply the wax to everything else whilst I lie down. To make application easy, leave a thick edge around the wax, and let it harden. Once the wax has cooled a little to become pliable, yank off in the opposite direction to hair growth. If any wax is left, just dab a little of the used wax on it to stick to it and clean the area. After I apply a touch of the blue oil to calm the area.

As if the wax wasn’t awesome enough, Parissa is an all-natural brand, and it’s also vegan!

The Hot Wax costs £7.27 and is available at Boots.

ESPA Luxury Body Collection*

ESPA The Luxury Body Collection

ESPA is one of those brands which I just think is the height of luxury. Whenever I use one of their products, I feel like I could be in a luxurious spa, rather than just in my own bathroom.

ESPA The Luxury Body Collection-2

Since the festive period can be a little stressful, and since I want to get a head start on my New Years Resolutions, I chose the Luxury Body Collection, a gift box which contains everything you need for silky soft and healthy skin.

ESPA The Luxury Body Collection-4

Since the postman popped round with the parcel, I’ve been using the Skin Brush. The bristles are made from Mexican cactus plants, and even though they are very stiff, they don’t feel too rough on skin. The Skin Brush is incredible for banishing dry skin and cellulite – prior to showering, I start at my feet, using long upwards brushstrokes. All the action really smoothes skin and helps with circulation, meaning your skin starts to naturally glow. I’ve also found a little extra dry brushing is great if I’m doing things like a juice cleanse – it just seems to jump start my body!

ESPA The Luxury Body Collection-3

Once I’ve dry brushed all over, I hop into the shower with the ESPA Body Smoothing Shower Gel. I absolutely adore the scent – it’s a fresh slightly citrusy herbal, which is jus the most refreshing way to kick start my mornings. I love to use a little on a shower puff, and it transforms into a rich lather which smells just heavenly!

ESPA The Luxury Body Collection-6

Dry skin doesn’t stand a chance in the face of the ESPA Smooth and Firm Body Butter. It’s the richest, most luxurious body butter, which despite feeling super thick, completely melts into the skin. The scent of the body butter is the same fresh herbal with a citrus edge as the shower gel, so it’s the perfect choice for mornings.

ESPA The Luxury Body Collection-7

I’m more than a little obsessed with the Body Butter – I keep it at my desk during the day to use it as a rich hand cream, as well as using it in the mornings and evenings. The texture feels so sumptuous to use – it’s a gorgeous treat for dry winter skin.

ESPA The Luxury Body Collection-5

The final goody in the Luxury Body Collection is ESPA’s amazing Optimal Body TriSerum. I’ve been reading about this in all the glossy magazines, so I was super excited to try it! The TriSerum works to even skin tone, suffuse it with radiance and boost collagen and elastane. Basically, it’s great skin in a bottle. Since this is quite a small 100ml bottle, I keep it for the areas that really need it – mostly the tops of my arms, elbows and décolletage. The formula’s texture is like a thick oil and it just melts into skin. If I’m going out, I also like to give my legs and arms a quick slick of the TriSerum – as well as moisturising them, it gives my skin a perfect glow with a hint of gorgeous herbal scent!

The Luxury Body Collection is on sale now for £55.00 and is available here.
