Pur Minerals Magic Wands Brush Collection

If you’re looking to give your stash a bit of a 2015 reboot, Pur Minerals’ Magic Wands brush collection is an adorable choice. Packaged in a nifty striped makeup bag, there are 5 key brushes – foundation brush, powder brush, blush brush, utility brush and eyeshadow brush. The bag is also big enough to pop your everyday makeup into too!

The white and pink brushes are just the cutest way to perk up your makeup bag. They’re definitely travel sized, so if you’re off somewhere exotic, these are a perfect choice. The brushes have synthetic bristles, meaning they feel super soft, and are incredibly easy to clean.

The Pur Minerals Magic Wands Gift Set costs £24 and is available at Marks and Spencer

If there’s one thing I’ve got down, it’s organization. I just love having everything in its place. Since I’m always off somewhere I love having a selection of beauty bags to choose from.

Victoria Green Cosmetics Bags-2

My most recent find is Victoria Green’s gorgeous new Autumn/Winter range of beauty bags. You can find them in exclusively in Debenhams, and I love the simple graphic designs.

The simple leaf pattern feels perfect for fall, and the subdued colors are just so pretty! I’m obsessed with the polka dot trim which matches the interior lining – it’s so fun! The bag is also the perfect size for all of my daily essentials – I can comfortably fit my moisturizer, concealer, blush, brushes and lip glosses with a tone of space to spare! The wash bag is made of wipe-proof material which means it is easy to keep pristine (is there anything worse than grotty makeup bags?) and I love how easy it is to find in my gym bag! The print is one of seven new patterns, and you can choose from a variety of bag sizes and styles.

Mine cost £8 and is available exclusively from Debenhams

What’s in my makeup bag?

 What's In My Makeup Bag?

I thought it would be fun to start adding a few more ‘personalized’ posts here. Just to share the things I’m loving at the moment. My little daily makeup bag is the one I carry around the most. The little bag itself is Louis Vuitton, and I’ve been using it constantly since I was 16, so it’s definitely seen better days! It came as part of a limited edition bucket bag which was decorated with cherries, and on the other side there are two smiling cherries. Unfortunately, since I’ve battered it about so much, they’re looking a little worn, but I’m still in love with it. You can just see the red stitching which was also limited edition.

Inside is where is gets interesting though! Recently I’ve tried to pare down what I carry around with me – I usually have a few other lip glosses secreted in my bag, car, and wherever else, but I’ve been trying to keep everything neat and tidy!

First up is my Laura Mercier colour-to-go compact* in the brown colour-way. I’ve featured it before here, and it’s a work of genius. The top layer has a great size mirror, three shadows, an eye liner, and lipgloss and underneath there is a blush and bronzer. There isn’t a thing in the palette I don’t use daily, and I love how tidy it is.

Then I have my MAC Proenza Schouler 129 SE Brush. Again, this is a little gem, and I’m more than obsessed with the kind of petrol-look handle. The bristles are so soft, and it fits perfectly in the blush and bronzer pans of the compact.

Next up is my NARS concealer, which is just the creamiest, densest concealer I own. It’s one of the rare ones which covers up blemishes completely but doesn’t look cakey or chalky.

My lipgloss is by Laura Mercier and is called ‘Pout.’ I got this as a little extra as a Net-a-Porter order, and I love it. It’s a creamy pink and it’s a great choice for days I want to look natural, or if I’m wearing a smokey eye it doesn’t compete. Like all Mercier glosses, it has a gorgeous vanilla scent and flavor, and there isn’t a hint of stickiness.

Last up is NARS Creamy Concealer in Vanilla. This is one of my holy grail products. I use this under my eyes, over blemishes and to even skintone. It’s packaged like a lipgloss, and the wand makes application super easy. I had previously been scraping out my tubes I bought in New York as nowhere in the UK seemed to have it in stock. Thankfully a SpaceNK now have it online, so I’ve stocked up again! A tube lasts me a good few months, and I’m so glad I have replenished my stock!

So that’s what’s in my makeup bag this week! What do you always keep in yours?

Debenhams Spring/Summer 14 Press Show Continued …

DSC06428

So, continuing on from yesterday’s post, I thought I would share all the goodies which were part of the Debenhams Spring Summer Press Show. After oohing and aahhing over all the lovely things downstairs (as well as making a mental shopping list) I headed upstairs, where all the gorgeous new beauty goodies were displayed.

DSC06429

I have to say, the number of brands which were exhibited was great – it was a good mix of old faithfuls and newbie brands, and it was lovely to see all the new colors and products. One of my favourite stands was Cargo Cosmetics.

DSC06430

I’m pretty obsessed with their Jet Lag concealer (see here), so I couldn’t wait to have a nosey around their new stuff. It’s probably not surprising that I’m heavily lusting after the pink and nude glosses.

DSC06431

The ‘Suited to a Tea’ palette was also adorable – the names all had tea connotations, and the colours were beautiful – the fact the shades could be used on eyes and cheeks is a major plus!

DSC06436

Another palette that caught my eye was the Too Faced Chocolate Bar. I’m a brown shadow aficionado, so this was right up my street! There was a great mix of warm and cool toned shades, and they even had a slight chocolate-y scent.

DSC06438

These Sweetheart blushes (again, by Too Faced) were swoon worthy. I love the Laduree-esque packaging, and I don’t think these would look out of place on Marie Antoinette’s dressing table. The powders gave a beautifully sheer wash of pink shimmer, and are perfect for wearing with a little tan.

DSC06441

It was at this point that the nail polishes caught my eye – particularly this quad of perfect pastels from Nails Inc. The pink and blue are just dreamy, and I love the grey for a little unexpected mani!

DSC06442

If you’re still feeling the nail art trend, Nails Inc have also made it ridiculously easy with their 2 in 1 polishes. One end has a gorgeous colour, whilst the other has a fun topcoat. I love the way you can decide how crazy you want your nails to be (plus those topcoats are perfect for hiding chips!)

DSC06457

I spent quite a while at the Clarins section – the brand are finally coming out with a Chubby Stick contender – as usual, the nudes and pinks caught my eye, but those bright corals are a beach staple!

DSC06458

The collection is inspired by Brazil, and look at those colours! I’m obsessed with that blue eyeliner – can you imagine that with a tan?!

DSC06460

The bronzer is something special too! It’s completely matte, apart from that teeny apricot diamond at the top. I can’t wait to get my hands on this for a believable glow.

DSC06432

Urban Decay’s Electric Light Palette was something special too! Those colors are actually insane in person – they’re neon, and I think that this would really be incredible in the right hands – probably not one I would actually buy, but definitely one of my favorites!

DSC06450

As well as these familiar brands, Tromborg was right in the centre of the room. It’s a Scandinavian beauty brand, and I’m pretty sure it’s exclusive to Debenhams. I think the packaging is so chic and minimalist, and the colours were divine – just look at those blushes! I can’t see the brand on the Debenhams website yet, but it shouldn’t be too soon. This is definitely a brand I want to learn more about!

DSC06453

I was also super happy to see Ole Henriksen, as it’s one of those brands I stock up whenever I hit a Sephora. I’ve been using the brightening wipes (pictured) and they’re pretty great. They smell of orange sherbet, and they leave skin cleansed and toned, but not stripped or dry.

DSC06449

Right in the corner was also this display of fun little cosmetic bags – so perfect for stashing all the goodies I’d obsessed over all evening!

Debenhams Spring Summer Press Show

DSC06403

Apologies for the spotty posting this week – it’s been kind of stressful and busy, and I’ve not had the time to sit and think, let alone blog. Thankfully it’s now Sunday evening, and I can catch up on everything I’ve been meaning to do. First up, I thought I would show you some pictures of the gorgeous Debenhams event I went to last week. Held at the gorgeous Blytheswood Hotel in Glasgow, the evening let us see whats new for both fashion and beauty. It was so well presented – downstairs was fashion and accessories, with the bar decked out in lustworthy bags and shoes. As if the sparkly goodies weren’t beautiful enough, I was cooing over the hydrangea – they’re one of my favourite flowers, and I love big bunches like this displayed simply.

DSC06408

Brights were a big deal – I love the cobalt clutch. How cute would it look with jeans and a navy sweater?

DSC06407

There were racks of bikinis – a welcome reminder that summer is right around the corner!

DSC06410

I loved seeing the clothes displayed on mannequins – at so many press shows you’re confronted with just racks and racks of clothes. I much prefer seeing how everything hangs. I just love the fun texture of the dress though.

DSC06421

I loved the print of this top – a little Toucan Sam to brighten up a day. Since I normally dress pretty conservatively I can’t wait until this is in stores.

DSC06415

I’m kind of obsessed with Peter Pan collars. I know they were everywhere a few seasons ago, but they always feel like you’re making a little more of an effort, and I’m obsessed with the dusky pink colour of the top.

DSC06417Last, but certainly not least, was this dress. Just look at the beading – it’s divine!

So, that’s my little round up of the fashion. Stay tuned for beauty …
