Rodial Skin Tint +*

Rodial Skin Tint 1

When I was at the Rodial event at Harvey Nichols a couple of weeks ago, I got to see Rodial’s skin tint in action, and I have to say, I was impressed! I’ve had a couple of tubes of the Skin Tint + in my ‘to try’ pile for a couple of months (oops!) but seeing them in action made me want to give them a run myself, and I have to say, I’ve been seriously impressed!

Rodial Skin Tint 2

I was kindly sent two of the five available shades (mine are Capri and The Hamptons) but the shades cater to even the deepest of skin tones. i was actually quite surprised at the amount of coverage the tints give – I was sure that they would be super sheer, but actually they do give skin a flawless base which eradicates redness and disguises any sort of tiredness or breakouts, they’re also pretty matte. One of the tips I picked up at the masterclass, was to add a drop of oil to the Skin Tint + prior to application to add a bit of luminosity and glow to the finish. It’s a hint that’s worked an absolute treat – I’ve been loving the results which perfect my skin.

Rodial Skin Tint + is priced at £45.00 and is available here.

Lancome Energie de Vie Liquid Moisturiser*

Lancome Energie de vie base

So it’s pretty rare that I receive a product and it goes directly into my everyday must-have beauty bag. I usually tinker around with them for a while and then move onto the next new thing, but happily, Lancome’s brand new Energie de Vie range has completely blown me away! I reviewed their overnight mask here and I’m still absolutely in love! For daily use though, every morning I’ve been smoothing the new Liquid Moisturiser onto freshly cleansed skin as a sort of soothing, moisturising base.

The product is inspired by Korean beauty (I’m completely obsessed by it) and is designed to smooth and soften skin, making it look and feel beautifully soft and smooth. If you suffer from oily skin, I think you could probably get away with using this as your daily moisturiser, although since I have quite dry skin, I absolute love the extra dose of hydration I get with this. You only need 1-2 pumps of the formula, which feels like a super light gel, and it just disappears into the skin. It’s a perfect product for summer as it feels so soothing and cooling to apply, and I love the light, fresh scent too!

Lancome’s Energie de Vie is priced at £28.00 and is available here (UK) and here (US)

Clarins Repair Booster

DSC_0437

If there was one thing that I could change about my skin, I would get rid of my redness in a split second. I’m not sure if it’s a combination of having sensitive skin and living in quite a cold climate or if it’s just some genetics thing, but my skin sits squarely on the pink side, even if I’m and my skin is calm and hydrated. I’m fortunate that I don’t suffer from anything worse, and that for the most part my skin behaves as I’d like, but it can definitely get annoying when I want to look perfectly put together and my cheeks are glowing pink. So, when Clarins announced that they were releasing a trio of brand new Boosters, I knew I had to treat myself to the Repair one!

What I love about Clarins Boosters is how easy they are to use – you take your moisturiser then simply add two to three drops, mix it up, then apply like normal. Then, as the day goes on, your choice of Booster gets to work, mine obviously is busy repairing skin and dealing with redness but the other two deal with brightness and detoxing. You can even add a drop to your foundation to give it a bit of a glow (although I found it made mine a touch sticky feeling). I’ve been using my Repair Booster for about a fortnight now, both morning and night and I have seen a a bit of reduction in my redness. It’s also the perfect choice if you’re off somewhere sunny on holiday – it works to repair and soothe damaged skin too!

Clarins Repair Booster is priced at £30.00 and is available here.

Paul & Joe Moisturising Foundation Primer – 1*

DSC_0156

When I say that I’ve been dying to try out the Paul & Joe beauty line for years, I’m not exaggerating in the slightest. I absolutely love the clothing line, and the beauty has always just looked so pretty and glamorous – it’s exactly what you want to use every morning! When the Moisturising Foundation Primer arrived, I got super excited – I’ve developed quite the thing for primers recently, so I knew I was going to love one which promised hydration and radiance!

Before I even get started on the primer, I have to address the packaging! Like all of Paul and Joe Beauty, some serious thought has been put into the looks! The bottle itself is glass,  decorated with embossed flowers, and has a pump dispenser. It looks like a dream, and it’s so pretty to leave out on my dressing table. Since it’s a pump, the formula stays hygienic, and it’s really easy to control how much you’re using.

I’ve been testing it out for a few days, and I have to say – it’s really impressed me. I only need a single pump of primer to cover my face and neck, and I love the lightweight formula. It disappears into my skin, and leaves a soft radiance which makes foundation look completely natural. It also regulates my skin, meaning I don’t feel dried out and parched by midday. Instead, my makeup stays in place without the need for touchups all day. There are three shades of the primer to choose from – all are pretty light, but give different amounts of lustre and brightness for skin. On days when I’m just running casual errands, I’ve just been smoothing a pump of the primer into moisturised skin instead of using a tinted moisturiser – it evens out skin and gives a healthy glow without looking or feeling heavy.

Paul and Joe Moisturising Foundation Primer is priced at £24.00 and is available here.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar BB Blur – Fair/Light*

DSC_0309

I’m not sure about you, I but am so ready for the Bank Holiday Easter weekend! I’ve been working all hours for the past few months, and haven’t really had any time off since Christmas, so the chance to take a couple of days to recharge is really needed!

DSC_0313As well as treating myself to a little r&r, I’m going to be giving my skin a bit of a break too! Rather than wearing my normal makeup, I’m planning on using only  a touch of the new Roche-Posay Effaclar BB Blur, and a bit of bronzer. Like all of Roche-Posay products, the BB Blur is seriously kind to skin. Rather than a lot of foundations and bases which can feel itchy or heavy, Roche-Posay’s offering is a mousse, and airy light!

It absolutely melts into freshly moisturised skin, evening out tone, erasing imperfections and leaving a perfect amount of glow. I absolutely adore the consistency of the BB Blur, and it’s even a great base product if you’re after something with a little more coverage.

The La Roche-Posay Effaclar BB Blur is priced at £16.50 and is available here (UK) and here (US)
