When I was away in New York, I was in desperate need of a product which would cleanse my skin of the impurities that walking around a city tend to throw at you, which is where Shu Uemura‘s new cleansing oil comes in. View Post
Travelling always makes me feel completely gross – the cabin pressure and the sitting around for hours really do nothing for my skin, and when I finally get to wherever I’m going I’m ready to scrub my face off. View Post
Estee Lauder‘s original Advanced Repair complex was one of the first products which was specifically formulated for night use, and their new Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II is being marketed at the most advanced serum ever! To celebrate this, the brand is launching a new global campaign which hopes to connect women through their personal experiences. View Post
For me, traveling is always the time to revert to old faithfuls and try out new brands and products – and Cargo’s Jet Lag Concealer falls into the latter category. View Post

Whenever the temperature goes up, my hopes of having a perfectly coiffed do disappear completely – call it the curse of the wavy-haired – so instead of stressing (and straightening) I have turned to Bumble & Bumble for their cult Surf Spray.
I should probably admit to coveting this item for years – since I was probably about 15, but my love for shiny straight hair kind of got into the way – so even when it got a little steamy I would just squirt on some more glossing cream and dig out the GHDs. This year however, I’m feeling a little different (plus I’m heading to the hairdressers in a fortnight and want my hair to be healthy) so I have left my trusty straighteners in the drawer and am embracing some of my ‘natural’ beachy waves.
To use, I was and 1/2 blow dry my hair, twisting lengths of it into ropes, and spray the B&B on liberally; I kind of thought the spray would have a beachy/coconutty/suncreamy scent but it really just smells of hairspray, although it fades super quickly. After application I continue drying my hair, still twisted until there is no wetness, then I run my fingers through it, and add another couple of quick squirts through the ends and underneath. With this, I get hair which doesn’t look try-hard, but instead just looks good! Since it is a salt spray, you’re hair won’t be shiny per say, but this is easily fixed with a dab of serum through the ends, and the texture the product gives you means hair won’t fall flat in high humidity.
With all of the wonderful summer weather we have been enjoying, I thought I would bring news of the summeriest new skincare range out there now.
Super Facialist by Una Brennan has released an entire new range which focuses on boosting skin radiance and adding a much coveted glow through the use of advanced Vitamin C+. The details are all very science-y so to condense it down, just look forward to skin which is brightened and replenished after using the products.
I tried the Skin Renew Cleansing Oil, which is part one of a dual stage cleanser – you follow it with an exfoliator from the range – and I have to say, I am pretty hooked! To use it, you simply pour a little from the bottle into the palms of your hands, rub together and apply to your face, then I add a teeny-tiny little bit of water which then turns the oil light and milky, then use a clean, warm flannel to remove any makeup and impurities which can languish on the skin. The oil feels wonderfully rich and luxurious, yet once I have washed it off, there doesn’t feel like there is any type of film left behind – just clean, soft skin, which is left smelling faintly of oranges – blissful in the hot and sticky weather!
I am such a fan of the Super Facialist range, I can’t believe just how reasonably priced the products are – especially with how expensive they feel when used! The Cleansing Oil is priced at £10.99 and I just can’t wait to try the exfoliator and eye cream from the range!

My post on Theodent 300 is a pretty popular post, and I can understand – a $100 toothpaste is a pretty big deal. View Post

Launching this month, Elemis have a brand new eye and lip make-up remover, a bi-phase product which, when shaken, will remove any sort of mascara or lippie with ease.
I have to admit, I do wear rather a lot of eye makeup – there is my Laura Mercier base, a shadow or two, a liner, then black mascara, so easy removal is pretty much essential. There really is nothing worse than dousing a cotton pad in some concoction which then just smears black down my face whilst stinging my eyes, so I was overjoyed when the bottle popped through the door. Elemis is brand that I really trust – my sensitive skin has never had any adverse reactions to the brand, and their newest offering is no different. The product comes in a clear plastic bottle which is perfect for knowing exactly how much you have left, and it is a clear liquid consisting of marine spring water and natural emollients which are shaken prior to use. I applied the remover to a couple of cotton pads, then applied to my eye area, pressed down and wiped – magic – nearly all my eye make-up had vanished! There was none of the tugging I have dealt with using other brands, nor was there a greasy residue left behind; instead my eyes just felt cool, refreshed, and clean.
The make-up remover is also rather good at swiping off whatever lipstick you have chosen for the day. I tried it out on Shu Uemura’s Rouge Unlimited PK355, a matt coral-red which is super long-lasting, and leaves a strawberry stain on my lips, and again, only a swipe or two was needed for complete removal! The way this remover manages to deal with even my most intense mascaras (Dior waterproof Blackout) or lipsticks is super impressive, especially when considering how gentle on the skin the formula is. This has definitely become my go-to at night, and I can’t recommend it enough!
The Make-Up Remover is priced at £17 and is available here.
