Daye CBD Balm*

Daye are quickly becoming one of my favourite brands. Not only have they made period products delightful, they’re a company with ethics. From keeping their operations C02 neutral, to employing women from the criminal and care systems who might not ordinarily be given the greatest opportunities to succeed, it’s a brand which seriously delivers. A few weeks back, I fell in love with their tampons (you can read the whole post here), so when I got the chance to try their CBD Balm which they taut as ‘rest & relaxation in a jar’, I couldn’t resist!

The chunky tin comes adorned with the brand’s signature doodles and it’s surprisingly chunky. I was expecting something closer to a lip balm tin, but happily, this is far more generous. If you’ve read this site for a while, you’ll know that I’m a CDB fan – when I take it orally, I am noticeably calmer and less panicky, and I find it really soothing when applied topically, so Daye’s balm, which boasts concentrated levels (30%) of pure, whole plant hemp extract with naturally occurring CBD (400mg) and an invigorating botanical blend of ginger, lavender and lemongrass sounded like heaven.

I’ve been loving the balm as an indulgent addition to my nightly regime – massaged into everything which needs a little TLC, from my cuticles to my heels. The balm is heavenly to use thanks to the Shea and Cocoa Butter formula which feels super hydrating as well as silky soft. In addition to loving how soothing and hydrating it is, the balm smells absolutely heavenly too. It’s perfect for combatting winter dryness, and it can even help soothe aching muscles – perfect if you’ve been a bit keen during your at-home workout!

Daye CBD Balm is priced at £21 and is available here.

Fenty Skin Flash Nap*

When it comes to celeb-backed beauty brands which broke the mould, I think Rihanna’s Fenty rightly occupies the top spot. From the brand’s beauty debut back in 2017, where a lineup of 40 foundation shades showed the industry just what was missing.

Since then, the line-up has expanded, and this summer, Fenty Skin launched, presenting a beautifully curated collection of products designed to give you your best skin yet. Some products, like the moisturiser and sun cream are even re-fillable, which feels like an idea more brands should explore.

Last week I was very kindly invited to a Zoom event with Fenty Skin ambassador Sean Garrette to learn more about brand as well as the new Flash Nap Instant Revival Eye Gel Cream. It’s a gorgeous concealer-eye cream hybrid which works to make you look bright eyed and well rested. Like all the best eye creams, Flash Nap is lightweight, and leaves the delicate skin around eyes feeling hydrated, cool and ready for the day ahead.

In addition to a great for skin formula, each Flash Nap comes with a dink eye roller which is perfect for fighting puffiness. A metal roller (which I’ve been keeping in the fridge for the ultimate in de-puffing) is small enough to slip into a makeup bag, and it’s a real treat to use alongside the eye cream.

Fenty Skin Flash Nap is priced at £36 and is available here (UK) and here (US)

Pixi Beauty Rose Remedy Mask*

When it comes to beauty treatments, my favourites are always an evening spent enjoying a good mask. I make sure to use a cleansing mud formula weekly, but for the past while I’ve been loving hydrating formulas too. So, when Pixi sent over their new Rose Remedy Mask, I couldn’t wait to try it.

One of three options in the lineup (there’s also a rather fabulous Milk and Vitamin C version) the Rose is perfect for skin which needs a little boost. Packaged in a chunky jar, there’s an impressive 300ml of product, and Pixi recommend that you’re generous in your application to really enjoy the full skincare benefits.

The mask itself has a lightweight, jelly consistency which positively melts into skin. Applied after cleansing, you can use it either as a ten minute treatment, or as an overnight mask. Since I’ve got dry skin, I’ve been using it overnight, and honestly, it means I wake up with the softest skin after using this – it’s magic.

First of all, the scent of the mask is absolutely unreal. It’s a real treat to use – from the gorgeous scent through to the cooling texture, it’s quickly become one of my most reached-for products. With Rose, Argan Oil, Cica and Turmeric in the formula, it refreshes and tones skin, and I’ve even started keeping it in the fridge so it’s even more cooling!

Pixi Beauty Rose Remedy Mask is priced at £20 and is available here.

Un_Did – In Your Face*

When it comes to lockdown beauty – less is certainly more. I can’t remember the last time I cracked open a bottle of actual foundation, and even wearing a tinted moisturiser feels like I’m dressed up. As I look ahead to normal life resuming, I know that I want to keep this lower-key approach to beauty going, which is exactly where brand new label Un_Did comes in. They’re a super fun new beauty brand looking to upset your regular preconceptions.

Designed for everyone to enjoy, In Your Face is a lightweight face tint which is gender and ethnicity inclusive, and offers six shade choices which run from super light to very deep. Thanks to the translucent nature of the product, the shades will suit a variety of skin tones, and it dries down to a natural finish, so even if you don’t want people to know you’re wearing anything, you’ll be able to enjoy it.

I was very kindly sent Un_6 and Un_5 to try, and thanks to my winter skin, I’ve been reaching for the paler of the two (Un_6) pretty much daily. The texture feels almost like a serum, and sinks easily into skin, leaving it looking perfected within seconds. I like working it in with my fingers for as natural a finish as possible, but if you’d like a little extra coverage, you could easily use a sponge or foundation brush. Apart from a hint of a fragrance, you’d never know you were wearing anything as the day goes on, and the base makes the perfect canvas for a light lick of bronzer, and I’m good to go!

Un_Did In your Face is priced at £19 and is available here

Australian BodyCare Tea Tree Oil Hand Cream*

Obviously the past year has been rough on hands. From continued washing through to slapping on vats of sanitiser, I don’t think my hands have ever felt more in need of some TLC. With salons closed since Christmas, I’ve not even been able to enjoy my fortnightly manicure, so I’ve had to really up my hand care routine.

I’ve found the easiest way to keep on top of everything is to use products which are as effective as they are gorgeous to use, and one of my favourites has been Australian BodyCare’s Tea Tree Oil Hand Cream. With a formula made up with hydrating shea butter, argan oil and 1% tea tree oil, it’s wonderfully nourishing, and leaves hands feeling silky soft. Thanks to the tea tree oil, the cream smells absolutely beautiful, and I’ve been keeping mine at my desk so I can reach for it all day long.

Australian BodyCare Tea Tree Oil Hand Cream is priced at £10 and is available here
