Kiehl’s Creme de Corps Whipped Body Butter*

DSC_0539

I can’t even tell you how long I’ve been wanting to try Kiehl’s Whipped Body Butter – so when the postman arrived bearing one of the rather generously sized tubs, saying I was delighted was an understatement. What made the surprise even nicer was the fact that the tub is part of the Limited Edition Peter Max Holiday Collection, as is adored with the artist’s signature psychedelic illustrations. If you fancy your own arty tub, you can still get your hands on them in-store (I know the Edinburgh Kiehl’s store still has a couple!)DSC_0546

So, the fact that I had been lusting after the Creme de Corps Whipped Body Butter, and the fact that the tub is just gorgeous, meant I had rather high expectations for the stuff. And I’m glad to say, they were met and wholly surpassed! It might sound odd being so effusive about a moisturizer, but this stuff is holy grail worthy, and I’m not quite sure how I managed along without it!

The tub itself is a generous 226g, and the formula is so rich and nourishing, you only need a couple of finger-fulls of the stuff for your entire body. The butter is rich in Shea Butter and Jojoba Oil to really nourish skin, leaving it incredibly soft and nourished. The Body Butter also smells seriously incredible – the mix of soy milk and honey give a rich, slightly sweet scent which lingers on the skin. It’s the yummiest fragrance, which has a slight almond/coconut feel to it. It’s delicious!

Even more than the gorgeous fragrance or the serious moisturizing properties, I am just in love with the Whipped Body Butter’s Texture. Despite a seriously rich formula, the air whipped consistency means the moisturizer is a complete dream to apply, and my skin just drinks it up! Within a minute or two of application, it’s sunk in, meaning I can get dressed without having to worry about sticky limbs or staining delicate fabrics. My skin feels absolutely amazing after using the butter too! My legs and arms just feel so soft and cared for – I am just in love!

Kiehl’s Creme de Corps Whipped Body Butter is priced at £36 and is available here

Essie Luxeffects Polishes 2015*

I’m not quite sure I can believe that we’ve just hit 2016! The past year has flown by in a bit of a blur, and I can’t wait to see what the new year has in store!  Like most people, I’ve got a few resolutions up my sleeve, but don’t worry, I’m not going to bore you with the details. Instead, I thought I would start the year off in the most glamorous of ways; with Essie’s stunning Luxeffects collection.

DSC_1472

Unlike most of Essie’s polish collections which feature six or eight new colours, the Luxeffects is a condensed choice of four. They’re gorgeous shades though, encompassing work horses like the silver, and more unexpected shades such s the orange. Considering I’ve been loving my glittery fingers over the festive season, I thought I would share my thoughts!

DSC_1258

Frilling Me Softly, is probably my most reached-for out of the four options. It’s a mix of silver bar glitters and blue hexes in a clear base. It’s a polish that is easily built up, so if you only want a subtle glint, one coat is enough, but if you want super sparkly digits, three coats gives an almost opaque finish.

DSC_1223

I absolutely adore the rich magenta sparkle of Fashion Flares. The polish is a mix of hot pink bar glitter and black hexes held in a clear base. I’ve been wearing two coats over my regular pink polishes for a rich colour, and it’s a great choice if you’re after some serious Barbie-inspired nails.

DSC_1237

Tassel Shaker is a fiery mix of copper and gold bar glitters, and it’s absolutely stunning. If you’re after the glitziest golden manicure, a coat of this gives an incredible sparkle. One layer over dark polishes is really quite something!

Possibly the most unusual shade of the four is Fringe Factor, a wonderfully cool toned mauve which is made up of gunmetal and purple bar glitters in a clear base. I absolutely love two layers of this over a silver chrome varnish. It’s such a pretty colour, and incredibly eye catching!

Essie Luxeffects polishes are priced at £7.99 each and are available from Boots.

Magnitone Barefaced*

Magnitone Barefaced Pink

As a rule, I really try to take care of my skin. There’s only so much makeup can hide, and I think there isn’t anything prettier than a glowy, barefaced look. Thankfully, Magnitone London have made keeping skin squeaky clean super easy with their stunning Barefaced brush.

Magnitone Barefaced Pink 1

Available in a range of four colours, I opted for the rather gorgeous pink option. It’s definitely the prettiest way to cleanse every morning and night, and the cheery colour never fails to make me smile! Promising to deep cleanse, exfoliate and condition skin, I thought that this would be the perfect tool to help me stick with my skincare resolutions.

Magnitone Barefaced Pink 2

The brush couldn’t be simpler to use – I add a little of my foaming cleanser to the brush head, run it under a little water and I’m good to go! Since the brushes have a vibra-sonic technology, the Magnitone Barefaced really cleans out skin, and keeps pores far clearer than you could even hope to get using your hands or a flannel.

Magnitone Barefaced Pink 3

It honestly couldn’t be easier to incorporate the Magnitone Barefaced into your skincare regime. It’s 100% waterproof, so mine lives in the shower, meaning that it’s on hand to use every morning.

Magnitone Barefaced Pink 4

The bristles of the Magnitone Barefaced are beautifully soft, meaning that even sensitive skin like mine isn’t irritated by regular use. Another handy feature is the built in timer –  it beeps every 20 seconds then turns off after a minute. This means you can’t overdo it! I absolutely adore how much of a difference the Barefaced Magnitone has made to my skin, you have to try it!

Magnitone Barefaced is priced at £70 and is available here.

Charbonnel et Walker Christmas Baubles*

DSC_0952

If you can’t indulge over Christmas, real when can you? I love an unexpected treat, and when these Charbonnel et Walker beauties were delivered I absolutely fell in love!

DSC_1036

Considering Charbonnel et Walker have to be my favourite chocolatier, and I’ve loved their Pink Marc de Champagne truffles for years, the pink bauble was a seriously welcome addition to the Christmas tree! Containing eight of the delicious little treats, I think it’s the most adorable little stocking stuffer. If you’ve never tried the truffles, you really must! The smooth outer shell of the truffles is a delicate pink shade, holding a creamy ganache centre. The truffles have a surprisingly punchy champagne scent, which give them a wonderfully grownup flavour.

My new discovery is the bauble containing Milk Sea Salt Caramel Truffles. The blue bauble is just as beautiful as it’s pink cousin, the the chocolates inside are really incredible. The exterior of the truffles is a crisp milk chocolate shell, which melts into the gooey salted caramel centre. In a word, it’s heavenly. The centre’s saltiness is perfectly balanced with the creamy sweetness of the chocolate, and they are far too easy to sit and enjoy!

Charbonnel et Walker’s Chocolate Truffle Baubles are priced at £12.00 each and are available here
