Diamond Whites Black Edition Liquid*

Undoubtedly, the most fashionable things in the world of dental care have to be coconut oil and charcoal. They’re a seemingly odd combination (after all who would think that something completely black would whiten teeth?!) but rather amazingly, Diamond Whites have managed to combine the two in their new Black Edition Liquid.

The Black Edition Liquid basically makes oil-pulling incredibly easy, as it’s a mix of coconut oil and charcoal. Diamond Whites recommend swishing it about for 15-20 minutes, but that can be a little hard, so I normally use it for around ten. Since it’s liquid already, you don’t need to faff around in the bathroom melting coconut oil. Instead, it’s ready to go, and within a single use I can see and feel the difference. Teeth look whiter and my mouth feels incredibly clean.

Diamond White Black Edition Liquid is priced at £9.99 and is available here.

Kiehl’s on Wheels hits Edinburgh*

DSC_0689Last week, on a rare sunny evening, I meandered over to George Street after work to check out the most colourful display on George Street. Kiehl’s brand new bus rolled into town a week or so ago, and has been providing the city with the best beauty products ever since.

Considering I use and adore at least five separate Kiehl’s every morning, it was a no brainer that I would head down and see what the brand was up to, plus it’s always fun to go to blogger events. Kiehl’s, I’m glad to say, didn’t disappoint – with the most adorable picnic benches laden with goodie bags, it was so lovely to meet some Edinburgh-based bloggers.

After some introductions, as well as a snoop around the Kiehl’s bus (it’s packed with brand favourites for skin, hair and body) it was time for the evening to begin. We packed into the benches, and got to grips with learning all about the best of what Kiehl’s have to offer.

Jennifer (from Tartan Brunette) bravely volunteered to be the model for the evening, letting Kiehl’s expert Holly demonstrate how to best use and apply each product.

Starting right from the basics, we sniffed, rubbed and patted in a whole shelf of products, falling harder in love each time. There were a tonne of old favourites, including many which I use on a daily basis, but getting to try out products like the Ultra Facial Cleanser, means that my wish list has grown rather long since last week!

There was a lucky-dip prize at the end of the evening, which the very lucky (and lovely) Emma from unf4bul0us won, and we all toddled home, clutching our groaning Kiehl’s bags. Very kindly, we were treated to a mix of hero products as well as some treats from a Scottish pop-up across the street, which I’ve been using ever since – I’d forgotten how great Kiehl’s old-school lip balm is! There was also a full size bottle of the new Cactus Flower Hydrating Mist, which is super handy, as I’ve blown through half of my first bottle already!

The bus will be chilling in the middle of George Street for the next week or so, and then is starts up it’s travels again. So, if you hear it’s heading down your way, pop in, say hello, and treat yourself to something lovely!

Thank you to Holly, Kiehl’s and Kiehl’s on Wheels for having me!

As someone with skin that’s super sensitive and prone to dryness, I have to be so careful with my choice of cleansers. In my circle of friends I’m kind of known for my cleansing routine (apparently most people don’t have multiple steps) so you can imagine how happy I was when ByTerry’s Cullularose Nutri-Pure Comforting Balm Cleanser popped through the letterbox.

Packaged in an absolutely beautiful pink tube, the Cleansing Balm is part of the same range as the Miceller Water that I reviewed here. I’m absolutely in love with the delicate rose petal scent. It smells so wonderfully luxurious and spa-like, and it’s such a treat to use!

I tend to reach for the balm in the mornings – I prefer a foaming formula at night, and I love how the rich balm feels in the mornings. I only use the smallest little squeeze of the balm, and smooth it onto my skin, following with a warm, damp flannel. The gorgeous smell coupled with the rich texture combine to create the most luxurious of combinations which leave my skin feeling fresh, clean and super hydrated.

When it comes to cleansing, I’m kind of militant about the whole deal. No matter how late it is, or how tired I am, I just cannot go to bed without cleaning my face. I hate the feeling of makeup after a few hours, and there’s nothing worse than waking up with makeup smeared all over your pillowcases. Nightly I tend to use a balm or oil, then a foaming cleanser, eye makeup remover and a swipe of micellar water. It’s probably more intense than 99% of people, but I like my skin to be super clean before I add my nightly moisturiser, and if I don’t follow through, my face tends to get super dull super fast!

I’ve only ever heard wondrous things about the ByTerry brand, so when I got the chance to try their new Micellar Water Cleanser, you can imagine how quickly I said yes! To be honest, I didn’t realise that they were so into skincare as a brand – mostly my interest has centred around their lip glosses and foundations, so I was super excited to give their  Micellar a whirl.

Packaged in a chic, clear, slightly squeezable plastic bottle, the Micellar Water is delicately scented with rose. Honestly, roses aren’t usually my favourite fragrance, but this smells heavenly – it’s delicate and fresh, and incredibly pretty. To use, I simply squirt a little of the Micellar water onto a cotton pad, and sweep over my face in upwards strokes. It completely dissolves any leftover makeup, and it feels absolutely glorious on the skin. It’s so cooling and soothing, it’s an absolute godsend for people with sensitised skin like me. It also leaves skin feeling incredibly soft and hydrated – absolutely perfect for a quick moisturise and then bed!

Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Mask*

Kiehl's Turmeric and Cranberry Seed Energizing Mask

I hope the weather has been as good with you as it has been up in Edinburgh. It’s been glorious here for the past week, and it finally feels like Spring has sprung! This means that my make up taken a decidedly lighter turn, and I’ve been loving wearing a light base with a really glowy feel. As much as I love a good highlighter, the main part of the look is having super clear skin.

Kiehl's Turmeric and Cranberry Seed Energizing Mask 1

To achieve this, I’ve been reaching for Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Mask. It’s a new release from the brand, which promises that the mask is an instant facial. It’s the perfect solution if your skin has been feeling a little blah, or you want some extra radiance. Personally, I love it because it feels like real multi-tasking product that you can just pop on, relax for twenty minutes then rinse off, then you’re free to enjoy super soft, clear and radiant skin.

Kiehl's Turmeric and Cranberry Seed Energizing Mask 2

I’ve seen a tonne of turmeric mask ideas on Pinterest, as it’s been known to be great for skin for generations, so Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Mask is definitely the easiest way to try it out! I’ve been applying the mask twice a week to freshly cleansed skin. At first, there is a menthol-freshness that feels both tingly and cooling on the skin, and as you rub it in, the formula’s cranberry seeds provide a gentle amount of exfoliation. Then I leave it to harden slightly for 20-30 minutes. I have to say, it’s a hilarious yellow colour, which does tend to stain white towels, but apart from that, the mask is pretty much flawless. After washing off, my skin feels incredibly soft and smooth and it looks like I really have treated myself to a pricey spa treatment. The fact that I can slap a little on whenever my skin is feeling a little blah feels like such a treat!

Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Mask is priced at £28.00and is available here (UK) and here (US)
