Sensai Triple Touch Concealer Compact*

Sensai Triple Touch Compact

It’s not often that a product arrives that feels like nothing else in my collection. Concealers especially. They tend to come in bullets or pots and are usually a little bit boring. So, when a rather glamorous compact popped through the door, it’s fair to say that I was more than a little intrigued.

Sensai Triple Touch Compact 5

Inside, Sensai have included everything you could possibly need when it comes to cover-up: there’s a colourless concealer, a cream concealer, and then, underneath, a beautifully lightweight setting powder.

Sensai Triple Touch Compact 4

If you’re getting ready to jet off anywhere this summer, I would seriously recommend adding this compact to your carry-on. The mixture of chic packaging and dreamy formulas make the compact a must-have, which, happily, is so easy to use!

Sensai Triple Touch Compact 2

Prior to apply my foundation, if there are any enlarged pores or fine lines I want to cover, the left hand, clear concealer is what I reach for. It’s got quite a rich consistency which disappears into skin, and really blurs out any imperfections. It’s also a great little base to use under the cream concealer on dry skin or on problem areas.

Sensai Triple Touch Compact 1

The creamy concealer is incredibly rich and hydrating. It’s a true full-coverage formula which I tend to blend into skin using my fingertips. The heat from my fingers really seems to encourage the concealer to melt into skin, leaving a truly flawless result. No matter whether I’ve been using Sensai’s offering to cover dark circles or blemishes, it performs beautifully.

Then, as if two rather wonderful concealers weren’t enough, when you get into the compact’s lower level tree’s a translucent powder and a really great mirror. It might be a little odd to bang on about how good a mirror is, but this one feels like it’s a whole lot better than a regular compact. The powder too is flawless – it’s so silky feeling, and it absolutely disappears into skin without feeling caky or drying. I use a slight swirl of it to set under eye concealer, and I also add a little to my nose and forehead to set my makeup and make sure it lasts throughout the day. Sensai have three shades to choose from, and somewhat unsurprisingly since it’s an Asian company, they’re all pretty light, which might be problematic if you have a richer skin tone.

Sensai Triple Touch Concealer Compact is priced at £40.00 and is available here.

YSL Touche Eclat – Slogan Edition*

YSL Touche Eclat

I think one of the first high-end purchases I ever made was one of YSL’s iconic Touche Eclats. It might be odd for a 14 year old to lust after a concealer, but there was just something so special about the golden pen, I just had to have one of my own. Since then I’ve kept at lease one kicking about my makeup collection, and it remains as one of my favourite under eye concealers.

YSL Touch Eclat 2

Every so often, YSL offer limited edition versions of the Touche Eclat, and I always make sure to pick up a couple. Over the past few years, there have been leopard ones (review here), lip ones (review here) and even lace ones, so when I saw the new slogan edition, I obviously had to treat myself! Even better, that the day after picking one up myself, YSL very kindly sent one over, so now I can show you two out of the available three!

YSL Touche Eclat 1

Everything about the new Slogan edition is the same as the original, apart from the fun slogans which are painted on the side. You can choose from ‘all lights on me,’ ‘no need to sleep’ or ‘I am not a morning person …’. They’re such a fun update on such a staple product, and I just love the fact that it feels like YSL aren’t taking themselves too seriously!

YSL Touche Eclat 3

If you’ve not tried the Touche Eclat yet, one of these limited editions is such a fun way to gal in love with them! I usually apply mine after foundation to create a super flawless looking base, and I just love the way that it completely erases any signs of tiredness or puffiness!

YSL Touch Eclat 4

To use, I just use two clicks, and paint the formula under my eyes in a rough triangle. Then using my ring finger, Although the formula is usually available in eight shades, the limited edition only comes in the original shade 01, so it is something to consider if you have a darker skin tone. I’m just obsessed with my Touche Eclats though, if I want to look particularly glowy, I dot and blend a little of the formula across my cheekbones, brow bones and nose too! It’s such an easy way to look wide awake, and fresh faced!

Have you ever tried Touche Eclat?

YSL Touche Eclat Slogan edition is priced at £25.00 and is available here (UK) and here (US)

Rodial Airbrush Concealer*

Rodial Airbrush Concealer

I’m not sure that there is anything that looks prettier than super clean, fresh, dewy skin. And in the summer, it feels almost compulsory to have it, so, in a bit of preparation, I’ve been barreling through my concealers to find some that are real multitaskers. And my current favourite might just be Rodial’s Airbrush Concealer.

Rodial Airbrush Concealer 1

Packaged in one of the brand’s signature black and silver compacts, the Airbrush Concealer is both super glamorous and really rather effective. I take a little of the formula, and pat it under my eyes to disguise darkness and circles, whilst a touch of the concealer over a blemish makes it nigh-on disappear. It gives skin a real perfected, almost airbrushed quality which stays luminous all day. I love the fact that it never feels too dry or cakey, meaning that your skin looks so healthy even if you’re covering up a rather late night!

Rodial Airbrush Concealer is priced at £32.00 and is available here (UK)

Paul & Joe Concealer Pen*

I don’t think anyone really, truly enjoys Monday mornings. Waking up from the weekend is a bit of a downer, and getting back into the swing of things at work is always tricky. Thankfully though, Paul & Joe’s Concealer Pen means that even though you might be recovering from a heavy weekend, no one needs to know!

As always with Paul & Joe, the packaging is just perfection. The dusky pink pen looks so pretty in my makeup bag, and I just love the little flowers that are on it.

Once you pop off the cap, you see the little brush, which makes application an absolute breeze. I use about two clicks for both of my under eyes, and sweep the concealer in a triangle under my eyes.

The concealer itself is a pretty peachy shade which is perfect for counteracting purple and blue undertones. If you’re getting into colour correcting, this is a super easy (and effective) way to start. It completely disappears into skin, taking any sort of darkness or eye bags with it. The Concealer Pen is basically 8 hours of sleep in a rather convenient little tube! It sits well too! I don’t get any sort of creasing or fading all day.

Paul & Joe Concealer Pen is priced at £18 and is available here.

Gift Guide: YSL Touche Eclat – Kiss & Love Edition

YSL Touche Eclat Lips 1

So, YSL Touche Eclats are one of those products I always have in my makeup stash. It’s a real must-have thanks to the way it can hide shadowed under eyes, and add a touch of light to the skin. So, you can imagine how excited I get about their special editions which are always embellished with the cutest decorations.

YSL Touche Eclat Lips

This year is no different with their Kiss & Love Holiday 2015 range which features three lipsticks, a makeup palette and the touch eclat all studded with ruby red lips. A couple of years ago I nearly bought a dress in the exact print in the Harvey Nicks sale, but didn’t, and it’s haunted me ever since!

So, when I could get a bit of the lips action in the form of a Touche Eclat, I jumped! I may already have bought two!
