Curaprox Black Toothpaste*

Curaprox White is Black Black is White toothpaste

I think that it’s fair to say that I have something of an interest in unusual dental products. I’ve tried $100 toothpaste (here), toothpaste made from chocolate (here), and I’ve even added charcoal to my toothpaste (here), so when I heard that Curaprox were releasing two black toothpastes: Black is White and White is Black, you can imagine how excited I got!

Curaprox Black is White

Black is White was the first of the toothpastes I tried – packaged in a sleek black tube, complete with matching black toothbrush, in a word, it’s stunning. Happily, the formula is as awesome as the packaging, and the black colour isn’t just for effect.

Curaprox Black is White 1

It’s thanks to the activated carbon which adsorbs stains from the surface of teeth, leaving them whiter than before. It feels like a gentler, more natural way to get whiter teeth, and I just love how fresh and clean my mouth feels after using the toothpastes.

Curaprox White is Black

There’s no difference in the formula except their flavours – the black tube has a minty-citrus taste, whilst the white has the more regular plain mint. Both are super refreshing, and I’ve been using the black tube daily for about a week, and I can already see the difference!

As if the activated charcoal in the formula wasn’t enough, there is also a super subtle blue shimmer, which leaves teeth looking even whiter, albeit on a slightly less permanent basis.

Minty Coco*

Cocomint

If you’ve looked at a magazine or a beauty site in the past year or so, you’ve probably already heard of oil pulling. At its most basic form, it involves taking a small amount of coconut oil and swishing it around your mouth for upwards of 15 minutes. Minty Coco has made the process so much easier and even more pleasant with their adorable little sachets.

Cocomint review

Minty Coco sell their sachets in boxes of 14 – enough for at least a fortnight of oral upkeep, and I can pretty much guarantee, once you start oil pulling, you won’t be able to stop! It’s a little weird to get used to at first, but the results are so fantastic, I’ve already got another box on order! (Also, pro-tip, if you subscribe to monthly boxes of Minty Coco, you save a rather impressive 17%!)

Cocomint 2

Minty Coco recommend that you swish anywhere from 5-15 minutes daily, and I tend to do it for as long as possible. To start with, just warm the sachet up in your hands for a minute or two. It allows the coconut oil to melt from a solid to a liquid, then just pop the formula into your mouth. Then it’s just a case of swishing the oil for however long you’ve got.

Cocomint Sachet

Since the coconut oil that Minty Coco use is such high quality (it’s even been cold pressed), it doesn’t taste overly coconut-y, and the dash of peppermint oil leaves my mouth feeling and smelling fresh. I have to say, I’m surprised at how quickly I’ve seen results! Even after my first sachet, my teeth looked a lot whiter (with none of the tenderness I usually get if I bleach), but my teeth even felt great. Super smooth and healthy – I love how healthy the sachets are to use, and they’re great to use, even if your on a vegan diet

Have you ever tried Oil Pulling?

14 sachets of Coco Mint are available for £23.99 here.

Harvey Nichols A Beautiful Mind Event

DSC_0011

Whenever I feel like treating myself to something a little luxurious, Harvey Nichols Edinburgh is always my first stop. The beauty hall is something to behold – all white and glossy and filled with the most marvellous cosmetics you can imagine!

So, you can understand how excited I was when I heard about last night’s A Beautiful Mind event. To allow you to  fully get to grips with everything new in the world of Beauty, Harvey Nichols sometime hosts evenings like this. They are such a wonderful idea – the rest of the store is closed, so you feel like you’ve been let loose in the department, which is just filled with experts and people as obsessed with beauty as you are!

DSC_0089

Absolutely every brand in-store takes part, which means you get to have a chat with everyone from Chanel to Sisely, and if you are interested in any products, they are more than happy to let you play about with it!

Since most of the brands have new releases at this time of year, it is the perfect way to learn about the newest lotions and potions.

Throughout the evening there were demonstrations on everything from how to contour to fillers thanks to the store’s own MediSpa, and it was just blissful floating from counter to counter learning about what’s new!

Prosecco helped the evening to start with a pop, and those who were after a slightly more healthful option were catered to with Kale shots courtesy of Nails Inc and a whole selection of drinks from Tea Pig. (On another note, how awesome are the Nails Inc girls’ sweatshirts! I was severely jealous!)

I could have spent the entire evening swatching away, chatting about all the new and beautiful things which are new in for Spring! I have now added several items to my (already overly long) wish list, and I may have purchased a few of my new must haves!

*Thank you to Harvey Nichols Edinburgh for inviting me to A Beautiful Mind evening*

DenTek Compact Floss *

Dentek Floss Picks

I’ve been super busy for the past couple of days – visits, meetings, you get the idea. So that I’m always super fresh, I’ve been carrying around DenTek’s handy Floss Pick cases.

Dentek Floss Picks 1

Each case holds 6 of the minty picks, and they are so easy to slot into my makeup bag, and I can sneak them into the bathroom for discreet touch ups. After all, who wants spinach in their teeth?

The pack of two cases is £2.99 from Sainsburys

Dentek Brushes and Tongue Cleaner*

So dental hygiene isn’t exactly the most glamorous thing in the world, but it’s probably the most important! I’m also slightly obsessive when it comes to my dental stash – whenever I’m in the US I head to Target and load up on pastes, gels, washes and brushes which I then have to lug home in a separate cosmetics case, so you can imagine how happy I was to hear that Dentek are now available in the UK.
