Clean Reserve Warm Cotton Eau de Parfum*

fullsizeoutput_a0bWhen it comes to wearing perfumes, I tend to fall squarely into two categories – citrus or white flowers. Both feel fresh and clean, and I absolutely adore fragrances which smell a bit soapy. I know it’s a bit boring, but I love how fresh they make me feel, and obviously I’m not the only one, as Clean Reserve have created an entire fragrance line based on life’s most beautiful smells.

I was kindly sent Warm Cotton which is part of the Reserve line. To be honest, I was a little dubious about how alluring smelling of cotton could really be. I have to say though, I’m a complete convert! The perfume smells absolutely glorious, and yes, it smells exactly like freshly washed sheets taken out of the tumble dryer!

Smelling like freshly laundered linen might not sound too exciting, but I have become absolutely obsessed with the stuff that practically every person I’ve come into contact with has been given a sniff of the bottle. It’s so fresh and so clean, meaning it’s perfect for misting on during the day, and it never feels overpowering or like it’s too much.

fullsizeoutput_a0eMisted onto clean skin, I can still grasp traces of it well into the evening, and I love how beautifully warm it smells. It’s so comforting and soothing, it’s perfect to wear when I know I’m going to be a little stressed out, or if I’m travelling. In addition to smelling absolutely wonderful, the perfume notes, as well as the packaging is completely eco-friendly so there isn’t a hint of guilt when I reach for this bottle. (which I do. Alot)

Clean Reserve Eau de Parfum in Warm Cotton is priced at £79 and is available here UK and here (US)

Jo Malone Basil & Neroli Cologne*

fullsizeoutput_9e5

When it comes to perfumes, Jo Malone tends to be my go-to. Their Orange Blossom cologne is one of my all-time favourites which I wear at least twice per week, so when I heard all about their brand new concoction, I was more than a little excited.

The mix of Neroli and Basil feels like it was made for me! Basil is one of my all-time favourite scents. I just adore how green and clean it smells. I use it all the time in the kitchen and I always wonder why it’s not used in more perfumes. In fact, it’s the first time there’s been Basil in a Jo Malone product since their iconic Lime, Basil and Mandarin.

Just as I had hoped, I fell absolutely in love with Basil & Neroli at first sniff. It’s one of those scents which makes you feel so fresh and clean to wear, and, more importantly, it smells like nothing else in my collection. At first, I get  a huge whoosh of green and basil. It has a gorgeous, almost unisex feel which feels incredibly elegant to wear.

Then, as the cologne warms up, the notes of Neroli become stronger. Anyone who’s spent two minutes on this site knows I’m into white flowers, and Neroli is one of my absolute favourites. It’s both soft and clean, yet it is noticeable. The mix feels unusual enough to stand out from the crowd whilst still feeling beautifully classic. My only gripe is that it’s not the longest lasting perfume in the world, but Jo Malone’s purse-sized bottles means that mid-day touchups are no big deal! I’ve actually bought one of the big bottles as I’m just so enamoured with it!

Jo Malone Basil & Neroli starts at £43 and is available here.

DKNY BE Tempted*

I feel like the season has finally shifted firmly into autumn, and as a result, I’m shifting around my most loved beauty goods like a crazy person! The light, citrus-based fragrances I wear throughout the summer have been popped back in the cupboard, and I’m in the mood for something a little deeper, and dare I say it, sexier.

dsc_0664-1

DKNY’s newest scent, Be Tempted, is ticking all my boxes, and has been described as a more sultry take on DKNY’s Be Delicious fragrance. The bottle, designed to look like a red apple, is adorable, and is incredibly eye-catching on my vanity. The fragrance itself is, as the name might suggest, absolutely delicious. Top notes of red berries, apple with a touch of patchouli feel both fruity yet grown up. There are heart notes of vanilla and rose which feel incredibly feminine and alluring, whilst the base notes of myrrh gives the perfume a wonderful depth and warmth. DKNY’s Be Tempted is a gorgeous choice if you’re looking for an autumn update!

DKNY’s Be Tempted is priced at £69.00 and is available here (UK) and here (US)

Lacoste L.12.12 Energized*

DSC_0488_2

I feel like Lacoste are really killing the fragrance game these days. If, like me, your a fan of fragrances which smell clean and fresh, they’re definitely the brand for you! I love their male fragrances almost as much as their more feminine counterparts as they don’t feel too complicated to wear, not to mention that they fall squarely into ‘steal-from-your-boyfriend’ category of scents!

DSC_0496_2

The L.12.12 Energized is a new take on the brand’s classic L.12.12 fragrance, with the addition of mint and ginger, L.12.12 Energized feels like it was made for summertime wear. Not to mention the pumped-up Lacoste gator, which has been transformed into a patchwork of flags, making the bottle feel like it was made to be used during this month’s Olympics.

Other than the supersized gator (and of course, the title, not much else has changed about the Lacoste packaging. It’s still a super chic white glass bottle, with the detailing on the side of the bottle as a nod to Lacoste’s iconic tennis shirts. Like the fragrance itself. the bottle is simple, fresh and clean, and really, what else do you need?

DSC_0523_2

On the skin, L.12.12 Energized Edition just feels like a shower in a bottle. The top notes of mint and ginger smell so cooling and fresh – just the thing you want to wear on hot, sticky summer days! The heart note of tuberose might sound surprising for a male-oriented scent, but it rounds off the sharpness of the ginger ad mint, and gives it an over-all soapy quality. The base of vetivert really grounds the fragrance and gives is a clean, green quality. It also means that it lasts on the skin, keeping you smelling amazing all day long!

Lacoste L.12.12 Energized edition is priced at £30.08 (it’s on offer) here

Lacoste Eau de Lacoste L.12.12 Pour Elle Sparkling*

DSC_0586_2

When it comes to beautiful fragrances to wear all day every day, I think it’s hard to beat Lacoste fragrances, and right in time for the balmy (I hope) days of summer, they have just released a trio of perfumes which aim to celebrate sophisticated femininity, and I have to say – I’m a real fan!

DSC_0589_2

Packaged in a gorgeously simple pink glass bottle, which is adorned with a single glittery Lacoste ‘gator, Pour Elle Sparkling is just made for wearing all summer long! Thankfully the fragrance itself is as beautiful as the packaging, as it mixes fruity, floral and even notes of macaron to create a perfume which feels wonderfully new and modern.

DSC_0599_2

When first applied, Pour Elle Sparkling smells wonderfully fresh thanks to top notes of mandarin orange, blackberry and red apple. It’s not too ‘fruity’ but just feels wonderfully summery! Then, after a little wear, the heart notes  give the perfume a rich sweetness thanks to notes of blogger-favourite macaron, as well as cotton candy and lily-of-the-valley. Despite sounding incredibly sugary – they just lend a hint of gourmand, and subtle sweetness. The base notes of vetiver and cashmere moss give the scent a wonderful longevity, and a touch of warmth.

Lacoste Pour Elle Sparkling is priced at £30.00 and is available here
