As much as I wear SPF and try to stay out of the sun, there is just something about a tan which feels so effortlessly pretty. As much as a golden glow is part of it, that glow you get after a day in the sun is incredibly hard to beat! Thankfully though, Urban Decay has released their Naked Illuminator Powder.
Designed to give skin a ‘gorgeous, just got naked glow’ Urban Decay’a Naked Illuminator Powder is an absolute gem of a face powder. The formula feels silky smooth, and completely melts into the skin when applied with a big fluffy brush. The incredible texture comes thanks to the incredible way the powder is produced – Urban Decay bake each dome on terracotta for 24 hours, and then the Illuminator is then finished by hand.
The Naked Illuminator Powder comes in two shades – Luminous (a golden champagne) and Aura (mine) which is a warm rosy gold. Both of the powders come in a gorgeous brown compact which comes complete with a large mirror in the lid, and a brush hidden inside the lower section of the compact.
Urban Decay’s Naked Illuminator Powder is really the ultimate multitasking product! On days where I’m not wearing too much makeup, a quick swipe over my nose, cheeks and forehead gives the perfect amount of warmth, whilst I can focus on my cheek bones for a little flattering sheen if I’m going for a makeup look that’s more formal. Rather than most of the illuminating powders I’ve tried, Urban Decay’s Naked Illuminating Powder isn’t too sparkly, and looks incredibly natural. Since the dome of powder is quite large, it’s easy to swirl a large brush and dust the powder on my clavicle too!
Urban Decay’s Naked Illuminating Powder is priced at £22.50 and is available here (UK) and here (US)
Chanel are really hitting it out the park with summer with their limited edition releases. When I saw the Les Beiges Collection yesterday, I couldn’t help myself!
The whole collection is based on beautiful nudes, and I just had to treat myself to a couple of pieces – I picked up a Healthy Glow Multi-Color Powder (Limited Edition), Glossimer Lip Gloss, Hydrating Lip Balm (Limited Edition) and Le Vernis Nail Colour in Beige Rose.
I’ll be sharing my reviews of the products super soon, so stay tuned!
You can find the bronzer here, and the lip balm here
I can’t really believe that we’re nearing the end of June, although I am relishing the long nights which mean I have ample time to get out and about to enjoy the golden light.
To keep me looking tidy, and to brighten my otherwise monochromatic workout gear, I’ve been loving Helly Hansen’s W Active Headband in Neon Pink. It looks so bright and fun, and it’s incredibly comfortable to wear. After securing my hair in a high ponytail, I just pop the band on. It’s super stretchy, so it fits my big head comfortably, and thanks to the double straps it stays in place, and keeps all my flyways neat and tidy.
Possibly the best thing about this awesome hairband? It’s only £ 8.00 and it’s available here.
If I’m going to be completely honest, on 99% of days, my hair ends up in a ponytail. No matter how much I blow out, straighten, serum and shine spray in the mornings, by around 2pm, I can’t bear my hair whipping around my face any longer.
Tie Me London, is making my afternoon ponytails look way more intentional (and glamorous) thanks to their stunning hair tie bracelet hybrid which is studded with a Swarovski® crystal in a 22 carat casing! The ribbon also means that my hair isn’t left all weirdly kinky, so if I’m in the mood to wear my hair down later on, all my styling hasn’t been in vain!
Thanks to a wardrobe of four colours (black, navy, olive and pink) there is always going to be a hair tie that matches what I’m wearing, and they are such a fun way to keep looking slick and polished throughout the day.
When my hair it down, my Tie Me London looks like a cute ribbon bracelet, and looks adorable when stacked with a pile of bangles. They are also one of my summer must haves – I can’t bear wearing my hair down in the heat, and these Tie Me London ties look so pretty in my hair. The Swarovski® crystal is super sparkly in the sun, and the 22 karat casing feels incredibly luxe!
Tie Me London hair ties cost £10.00 each and are available here.
Victoria Beckham dress was £855 now £427.50
In my family there’s a bit of a running joke that the Harvey Nichols sale falls in the same week as my birthday every year. It’s rather beneficial as I can point clueless relatives in the direction of the shoe department and it always ends well.
Vince mules were £315 now £157.50
Harvey Nichols sales are always my favourites – they don’t mess around with 10% off, instead the discounts are insane, and you can pick up pieces you’ve been drooling over for a serious saving.
Sophia Webster pumps were £340 now £170
So, if you’re near a store, or a computer, log onto Harvey Nichols and treat yourself!
