Harvey Nichols Edinburgh – Menswear for Father’s Day*

I always think buying presents for  men is super hard – and Father’s Day might just be trickiest. Thankfully though, Harvey Nichols has come to our rescue with their relaunched Menswear Department.

Designed after the flagship Knightsbridge store, The menswear department is definitely the chicest spot to shop for Dad anywhere outside the capital, and to celebrate, the store held a super-fun weekend filled with special services for the discerning shopper. As you arrived up the elevators, you were met with the cutest little bars serving up Arbikie – an incredible Scottish Gin and Vodka distillery.

As if that wasn’t enough, you could personalise the most luxurious of items – Grenson let you make up your ideal shoes, picking every detail from leathers to laces.

They could be as subtle or crazy as you could imagine, and the example shoes were absolutely breathtaking.

My favourite part of the whole event though, was the Etch’d stand, which, with an in-store purchase meant that you could get specially laser-personalised.

Even though I was expecting just initials, Etch’d can personalise basically anything with a flat surface, and I can’t tell you how awesome their pieces looked! Considering the chaps come from a graphic-design background, their designs were insane!

Based in Tollcross, you can even get phones and laptops laser etched, and I am seriously considering getting my laptop done. It’s just the coolest!

It’s not just electronics and perfume bottles which got the special treatment though, even shoes and sneakers were etched.

Since I couldn’t let the opportunity pass me by, I popped down to the beauty department to find something etch-able, so treated myself to Omorovicza’s Perfecting Lip Balm. It’s something I’ve been wanting since my facial (here) and the flat lid was perfect for the laser.

I couldn’t be happier with my rather special balm, and I would seriously recommend heading up to Harvey Nichols’ first floor. The menswear section couldn’t be better, and it’s absolutely packed with awesome Father’s Day gift ideas!

Omorovicza Perfecting Lip Balm is priced at £32.00 (I did receive a discount on mine) and is available in-store. You can find Omorovicza here.

Lacoste Eau de Lacoste L.12.12 Jaune *

It’s Monday! So, in the hopes of making your week easier through finding a perfect Father’s Day gift, I thought I would share Lacoste’s great new scent Eau de Lacoste L.12.12 Jaune. Inspired by the brand’s iconic polo shirts, Eau de Lacoste L. 12.12 Jaune is a gorgeously summer appropriate scent which is perfect if your dad is a shower-and-go, low maintenance kind of a guy. Although the name is a bit of a mouthful, it’s got a really interesting backstory –  L.12.12 collection is inspired by the yellow polo shirt. “L” stands for Lacoste, the number 1 symbolizes the “Petit Piqué” material used, 2 represents short sleeves and 12 is the number of prototypes made before the final product. Eau de Lacoste L.12.12 Yellow—Jaune is a scent that triggers optimism, joy and positive energy. So, now you know!

I’m in a bit of a love affair with citrus scents, so Eau de Lacost L.12.12 Jaune is smelling pretty awesome to be right now. When first applied, it’s a light citrus which smells seriously clean and shower fresh. The top notes of Grapefruit and Tonic Water are amplified by pink peppercorn, and it just smells like the embodiment of summer. As the scent warms with the skin, notes of coriander and red apple become more apparent, and really round out the fragrance. After an hour or so, the base notes of vetiver, cypress wood and amber give the scent a real sense of strength and longevity. This is such a great fragrance, I guarantee your dad will be reaching for this all summer long!

Lacoste Eau de Lacoste L.12.12 Jaune is priced at £47.00 and is available here (UK) and here (US)

Molton Brown Anti-Fatigue Bai Ji Eye Gel*

Since we’re in the run-up to Father’s Day, I thought I would start sharing some gift ideas, so present buying is a little easier. I don’t know about you, but I usually get completely stumped when it comes to buying gifts for guys, but fear not! I come bearing gift ideas aplenty, and I’m starting off with a good ‘un!

Molton Brown Anti-Fatigue Bai Ji Eye Gel 1

Molton Brown have just released a line of mens’ skincare, and one of my favourite products is the Anti-Fatigue Bai Ji Eye Gel. It’s a roller ball applicator which deposits a light gel which moisturises and calms your skin while algae extract helps reduce the appearance of puffy, dark circles. I’ve been popping this in the fridge, and using it every morning before I apply my makeup.

The cold roller ball feels ah-mazing, and it works like an absolute charm to de-puff if I’ve had a late night. Honestly, this is one of those products which you can then gift then surreptitiously use – it’s a win win!

Molton Brown Anti-Fatigue Bai Ji Eye Gel is priced at £22.00 and is available here (UK) and here (US)
