Avon Active*

When I found out that Avon had newly launched a line of sportswear, I was intrigued to say the least! In my mind the brand is synonymous with bubble baths and body lotions, so hearing that they had a rather gorgeous sportswear line, I knew I had to try it out! I was very kindly sent an outfit, which I’ve been trying out in the gym over the past week or so, and I have to say, I’ve been impressed! Perhaps my favourite item from the range is the Active Longline Reversible Sports Bra. Priced at a seriously affordable £12.00 (although it’s currently on offer for £10) you can either wear it as a chic navy bra which is trimmed with the neon yellow, or, for a pop of colour, you can wear it as an all yellow number. The material is lovely and soft, and it has a decent amount of support if you’re into high impact exercise.

The Avon Active Full Length Leggings are a gorgeous way to look chic and pulled together whilst getting sweaty. I think the blue and yellow combination is super fun. The material has CoolDry technology, which means you’ll feel as cool as possible during the hardest workouts.

The waistband of the pants has a really beautiful watercolour pattern, and I love how well designed the pants are. The waistband has a handy little pouch tucked into the back which is just big enough for a couple of cards, a phone or some cash.

If you’re looking for something to pop on after yoga, I’m in love with the Avon Active Open Back Top. It’s a really stunning navy colour, and it might just be the comfiest t shirt I own! It’s so easy just to pop on, and although it looks pretty basic from the back – there’s a surprise when you turn around!

The back has the most gorgeous open detailing which feels so fun to wear!

Last, but certainly not least, are the Avon Active Shockwave Trainers which I’ve been completely smitten with all week! Decorated with the same watercolor design as the legging’s waist band, the navy trainers look slick on, and I love the change from my regular black ones! The soles are wonderfully padded, and they are just the comfiest things to pop on. I’ve worn mine through a variety of workout classes, from kettlebells to BodyCombat, and they’ve been absolutely great!

FlipBelt*

Flip Belt

Ok, so I don’t want to jinx anything, but the weather has taken a rather lovely turn over the past couple of days, which means I’ve been taking my exercise outdoors. I have been more than a little pleased to bid farewell to the treadmill, since I always feel so much better when I can spend an hour or two outdoors enjoying the sun and fresh air. The only thing missing from my indoor sessions is somewhere I can store all the things I feel like I need when I work out.

FlipBelt2

This is where my FlipBelt comes in; after I put on my workout leggings, I slip it on over my waistband and it stays in place no matter what I’m getting up to! The FlipBelt is made of the softest spandex-lycra blend fabric, and the whole belt is made up of slit pockets which fit everything including my phone, gym membership and credit card, cash and it even has a hook to keep my keys in place!

FlipBelt 1

FlipBelt comes in a range of colours, from blacks and greys to the prettiest neons – since I normally wear pretty plain stuff to work out, I thought the pink would be a fun choice, and it’s gorgeous! The belt is super sleek to wear, and when I’ve got a t-shirt on, you would never know that it wasn’t the waistband of my leggings. I just love how easy outdoor workouts have become!

FlipBelts cost £25 each and are available here.

Harvey Nichols A Beautiful Mind Event

DSC_0011

Whenever I feel like treating myself to something a little luxurious, Harvey Nichols Edinburgh is always my first stop. The beauty hall is something to behold – all white and glossy and filled with the most marvellous cosmetics you can imagine!

So, you can understand how excited I was when I heard about last night’s A Beautiful Mind event. To allow you to  fully get to grips with everything new in the world of Beauty, Harvey Nichols sometime hosts evenings like this. They are such a wonderful idea – the rest of the store is closed, so you feel like you’ve been let loose in the department, which is just filled with experts and people as obsessed with beauty as you are!

DSC_0089

Absolutely every brand in-store takes part, which means you get to have a chat with everyone from Chanel to Sisely, and if you are interested in any products, they are more than happy to let you play about with it!

Since most of the brands have new releases at this time of year, it is the perfect way to learn about the newest lotions and potions.

Throughout the evening there were demonstrations on everything from how to contour to fillers thanks to the store’s own MediSpa, and it was just blissful floating from counter to counter learning about what’s new!

Prosecco helped the evening to start with a pop, and those who were after a slightly more healthful option were catered to with Kale shots courtesy of Nails Inc and a whole selection of drinks from Tea Pig. (On another note, how awesome are the Nails Inc girls’ sweatshirts! I was severely jealous!)

I could have spent the entire evening swatching away, chatting about all the new and beautiful things which are new in for Spring! I have now added several items to my (already overly long) wish list, and I may have purchased a few of my new must haves!

*Thank you to Harvey Nichols Edinburgh for inviting me to A Beautiful Mind evening*

Inspire for Women Yurbuds*

DSC06638

Recently I’ve been upping the amount of time I spend in the gym – summer is coming, and all that jazz, but what annoys me most about my sessions is constantly having to adjust my earphones.

DSC06644

I had just been using the regular Apple ones which came with my phone, but they were pretty uncomfortable, and kept slip-sliding all over the place, which is never good when you just want to zone-out mid run!

DSC06642

Thankfully, the clever clogs at Yurbuds, have solved the uncomfortable, sloppy problems with their Inspire for Women earbuds. As you can see, they have a special shape which means once you’ve popped them in, they won’t budge, and since they are specifically designed for women, they are slightly smaller than your average, absolutely perfect for someone with tiddily ears like mine!

DSC06643

The buds come in a selection of colors (meaning you can match your sneakers, if you’re that way inclined) and the soft silicone bits are super soft and comfortable – a complete godsend for people like me who get achy ears if I wear regular buds for too long! The brand has been created for and by athletes, so they really are a performance product!

The earphones cost £24.99 and are available here.
