LKER One Original Sound Foldable Headphones*

Headphones are one of those things I’ve been meaning to invest in for a while. I’ve been relying on Apples’ earbuds for far too long, and really, they’re not all that great, so, when I got the chance to try these stunners from Lker, I absolutely jumped at the chance!

All brushed steel and soft leather Lker’s One Original Sound Foldable Headphones fold into a neat little bundle, small enough to pop into any of my handbags. They’re incredible comfy to pop on, and they do a great job of drowning out the outside world when I want to concentrate on something. The sound quality is great – music sounds rich, and I’ve been able to tune into an episode or two of Parks and Rec whilst working away at Starbucks without any sort of interruption!

Lker One Original Sound Foldable Headphones are priced at £49.00 and are available here (UK)

The Perfume Society: The Scent of a Man Discovery Box*

The Perfume Society Father's Day Box

I absolutely love receiving beauty boxes every month, they always come as something of a surprise, and it’s just so fun to dig through them finding new brands and new favourites.

The Perfume Society Father's Day Box 1

The Perfume Society’s brand new The Scent of a Man Discovery Box is the first one designed especially for the boys, and I have to say, it’s a good one! Packaged in a greyscale version of the brand’s signature boxes is a selection of fine fragrance samples as well as a few rather generous treats.

The Perfume Society Father's Day Box 2

Like all of the Perfume Society’s Discovery Boxes, there’s a perfect mix of well known brands as well as some indie brands. It means that you’re pretty much guaranteed to find a few new favourites in the bunch.

The Perfume Society Father's Day Box 4

In addition to 13 fragrances to try out, there are also some rather luxe products in there too! I’m not going to lie – I’ve stolen the travel sized Elemis Ice-Cool Foaming Shave Gel as it’s super refreshing to use, and the minty scent feels wonderfully clean without being overpowering. There’s also a Penhaligon Face and Beard Scrub as well as an Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream for Men. I’ve tried out the female version of the moisturiser before and really liked it, so I’m sure that one’s a winner too!

The Scent of a Man Discovery Box is such a great little gift, I’m sure any father would love it! It’s priced at £19.00 and is available here.

Harvey Nichols Edinburgh – Menswear for Father’s Day*

DSC_0617

I always think buying presents for  men is super hard – and Father’s Day might just be trickiest. Thankfully though, Harvey Nichols has come to our rescue with their relaunched Menswear Department.

DSC_0622

Designed after the flagship Knightsbridge store, The menswear department is definitely the chicest spot to shop for Dad anywhere outside the capital, and to celebrate, the store held a super-fun weekend filled with special services for the discerning shopper. As you arrived up the elevators, you were met with the cutest little bars serving up Arbikie – an incredible Scottish Gin and Vodka distillery.

As if that wasn’t enough, you could personalise the most luxurious of items – Grenson let you make up your ideal shoes, picking every detail from leathers to laces.

DSC_0639DSC_0643

They could be as subtle or crazy as you could imagine, and the example shoes were absolutely breathtaking.

DSC_0593

My favourite part of the whole event though, was the Etch’d stand, which, with an in-store purchase meant that you could get specially laser-personalised.

DSC_0582

Even though I was expecting just initials, Etch’d can personalise basically anything with a flat surface, and I can’t tell you how awesome their pieces looked! Considering the chaps come from a graphic-design background, their designs were insane!

DSC_0578

Based in Tollcross, you can even get phones and laptops laser etched, and I am seriously considering getting my laptop done. It’s just the coolest!

DSC_0600

It’s not just electronics and perfume bottles which got the special treatment though, even shoes and sneakers were etched.

DSC_0598

Since I couldn’t let the opportunity pass me by, I popped down to the beauty department to find something etch-able, so treated myself to Omorovicza’s Perfecting Lip Balm. It’s something I’ve been wanting since my facial (here) and the flat lid was perfect for the laser.

DSC_0613

I couldn’t be happier with my rather special balm, and I would seriously recommend heading up to Harvey Nichols’ first floor. The menswear section couldn’t be better, and it’s absolutely packed with awesome Father’s Day gift ideas!

Omorovicza Perfecting Lip Balm is priced at £32.00 (I did receive a discount on mine) and is available in-store. You can find Omorovicza here.

Bomb Cosmetics Fleur Botanica & Vintage Velvet Candles*

DSC_0723

Ok, so it might seem weird to be talking about candles during something of a heatwave, but I just love lighting one during the evening and relaxing in the scent. Two new favourites were sent over to me from Bomb Cosmetics, and I just had to share them with you!

DSC_0733

Packaged in adorable little floral tins, the candles make the most perfect little presents, and I love to have a couple stashed in my drawer. Also, the fact that they have a lid means that the scent stays perfectly fresh, and have I mentioned that they’re absolutely adorable! I just love the little hearts that decorate the top – they make the candle look so pretty and really help them stand out from the competition!

DSC_0744

The first scent I tried was Vintage Velvet which is described as truly luxurious and I couldn’t agree more! It’s a really high-end smelling candle with notes of musk, vanilla and woods which are lifted with rose and bergamot. Even though it sounds like quite a full on, heavy fragrance, it feels perfect for lighting on balmy evenings. I keep mine burning for 30-40 minutes and it gives the room such a gorgeous ambiance.

DSC_0747

Fleur Botanica is the lighter, fresher fragrance of the two, and it’s just the thing if you’re looking for a super clean scent. The blue candle with the white hearts reminds me of fresh laundry for some reason, and I love how light the fragrance is! Notes of pineapple and lemon mix with grassy green notes as well as jasmine and lily. There is a subtle touch of white musk in there too, which gives the scent a real touch of luxe! I tend to burn this one during long afternoons where I want to relax a little and feel a little pampered. It’s the perfect accompaniment for some coffee and a great book!

Bomb Cosmetics tinned candles cost £7.99 each and are available here.

Deborah Lippmann Undressed Nail Polish Set*

DSC_0280

Ok, so I know I just complained about how bad the weather has been in Edinburgh, but even though it is freezing cold, it is still the middle of April, and I am so in the mood to ditch my dark nail varnishes!

DSC_0324

I feel like I’ve been wearing variations of black polish since about September, and even though I do love a dark mani (so sleek, so shiny) I’ve been really feeling the need to lighten up. So, I couldn’t resist when Deborah Lippmann’s Undressed Nail Polish Set arrived!

DSC_0349 2

Containing six of the most beautiful nude shades, the set pretty much has every skin tone covered. If I’m going for a real ‘mannequin hands’ look, the two lightest shades are pretty much spot on. The darker tones look super sophisticated on short nails.

DSC_0389

As much as I adore the colour selection, I just can’t get over how cute the bottles are! They’re mini versions of Deborah Lippman’s regular varnishes, and they are just the cutest, dinkiest little things!

DSC_0388

Skin Deep is the richest of the six shades, and would be the perfect natural nail colour if you have darker skin. It’s a stunning chocolate-milk shade which feels so sophisticated to wear.

DSC_0447

The formula is perfectly creamy, and almost opaque in a single coat. This feels like a new way for me to wear a neutral nail colour, and I’m sure it’s an absolute god-send if you’re looking for a deep-skin nude tone.

DSC_0387

Described as a full-coverage almond nude, Natural Woman is the most beautiful tan shade.

DSC_0433

Like all of the polishes, Natual Woman is a smooth full-coverage creamy formula, which needs just two coats to look beautifully shiny. I absolutely love wearing this when I’m wearing camel colours, it feels like an almost 1970’s chic take on nail colour

.

DSC_0380

Bare it All is the polish I reached for first when the set arrived, as the warm mauve-nude shade is just so pretty and unusual.

DSC_0431

It’s a beautifully toned-down way to wear pink nails, and it’s super work appropriate too! Again, creamy opaque coverage was achieved in two coats.

DSC_0372

Born This Way is probably the brightest of the six polishes, and is a stunning peachy-apricot shade. It’s a really stunning choice to wear if your nails are looking or feeling a little dingy (mine sometimes do after wearing super dark polishes) as it’s just an easy neutral.

DSC_0420

I was pleasantly surprised at how rich and opaque Born This Way, and I only needed two coats. Usually when I’m wearing colours like it I have to layer three or four coats, so two feels like an absolute breeze!

DSC_0369

Totally Nude is the closest of the collection to my own skin tone, and it’s described as a fair pink nude. This has been the polish I reach for the most out of the six as it makes my fingers look super long and thin, and really, who doesn’t want that!?

DSC_0416

I absolutely love wearing Totally Nude, as it really is just the perfect nude polish for my skin tone. It’s also a great choice if you’re travelling, as not only are Deborah Lippmann polishes wonderfully long-wearing, but chips, if they do appear, hardly show up with this polish.
DSC_0355

Last up is Flesh for Fantasy, which is just the most heavenly alabaster nude shade. If you’re a super pale girl, this is going to be the nude polish for you! I absolutely adore how cool and creamy the shade is, and it just looks divine on short nails!

DSC_0413

I don’t think I’ve got a shade quite like Flesh for Fantasy in my stash, and it feels like a perfect Springtime neutral. Even though it’s lighter than my skin tone, I just love the contrast, and I think it would look just incredible worn with a tan. It’s almost a take on a white manicure that way!

Deborah Lippmann’s Undressed Nail Varnish Set is priced at £27 and is available here (UK) and here (US)
