Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Summer Glow Illuminator*

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Illuminating Drops

Ok, so it’s not exactly news that I am just loving glowy skin at the moment. It’s just so pretty and fresh, and of course, perfect for summer! Estee Lauder obviously agrees, and they have just released their annual Bronze Goddess Collection, which is designed to keep you looking beautiful all season long!

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Illuminating Drops 1

Packaged in a dinky little bottle, complete with drop applicator, the Summer Glow Illuminator might just be my favourite product out of the whole collection. When I first saw the Illuminator, I was worried it would leave too warm a cast on my skin (I have quite pink skin which I’m always toning down), but happily, I needn’t have worried. It’s the most glorious little product – after applying a light base and a little concealer, I simply dot a little of the illuminator over my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose, my eyelids and my cupid’s bow. Then, just using my fingers, I blend it in and add a dusting of bronzer. Unlike may highlighter that leave a sparkling or frosted sheen, the Illuminating Drops give the skin a beautiful natural looking sheen. The drops make skin look so healthy and fresh, they really are just perfect for sunny weather. I can’t wait for warm evenings to add a little to my collar bones for an extra little sheen.

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Illuminating Drops are priced at £27.00 and are available here (UK) and here (US)

Urban Decay Alice Through the Looking Glass Lipstick Collection*

Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Lipstick Collection

A few years ago, when Urban Decay teamed up with Disney to produce an eyeshadow palette, they created one of those products which go completely viral. A jewel box of colour had everyone (myself included) clamouring for one, and they’re still selling for hundreds on Ebay. So, with the new release of the sequel Alice Through the Looking Glass, Urban Decay got busy, and not only is there a dreamy new palette (review to come) but five somewhat trippy lipsticks too!

Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Lipstick packaging

Packaged in keliedoscope-esque tubes, the shades run the gamut from creamy neutrals to full on blue. So no matter how subtle or crazy your look is, there’s going to be something you love!

Urban Decay Alice

The shade Alice is undoubtedly the most wearable out of the five, and is described as a sheer nude with a pink shift. On the lips it gives a beautiful peachy hue with a subtle sheen. The pink micro glitter in the formula add a little warmth and interest to the formula. I can almost guarantee that you don’t have a nude shade quite like this one!

Urban Decay Iracebeth

Iracebeth is possibly my favourite colour from the collection and has been labelled as a bright matte red. Blue undertones in the formula keep teeth looking pearly white, and I just love the pop of colour against tanned skin during the summer. If you’re after a true-red lip, you should definitely check this one out! I got four hours of wear before I felt the need to touch up, and despite the matte formula, it didn’t feel at all drying.

Urban Decay MiranaMirana is one of those colours that I feel like every girl should own. It’s a stunningly vampy burgundy shade, which I am dying to wear throughout the winter. The formula has the most beautiful berry undertones which keep the shade looking fresh. It feels surprisingly balm-like, and I just love the subtle sheen that it has on the lips.

Urban Decay Mad Hatter Lipstick

Mad Hatter is definitely one of the most eye-catching shades I’ve ever tried, and I have to say, as unlikely as it is that I’m going to be popping into Waitrose rocking a purple sparkly lip, I kind of love it! The formula is so pretty and shiny, and on the lips it turns into an almost magenta-toned purple. I think this would be absolutely incredible on darker and richer skin tones than mine, so if you’re looking for a shade which is something a little different and crazy, this one’s for you!

Urban Decay TimeOf course I had to save the craziest shade for last! Time is described as a gunmetal navy with a silver finish. Honestly, this one is just so pretty, I’m keeping it as something of a collectable. On the lips it’s a true blue, and again, I’m thinking that a deeper skin tone would make this shade really come alive. Honestly, I’ve not worn this one enough to comment on wearability, but it’s just such a fun addition, I’m kind of in love!

Urban Decay’s Alice in Wonderland Lipstick Collection is priced at £16 per lipstick and you can find them here (UK) and here (US)

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Oil in Stick – 48 Smoking Plum*

YSL Rouge Volupte 48

When it comes to summer lipsticks, the usual choices tend to centre arounds nudes, pinks, and perhaps the odd coral if I’m feeling colourful, so when YSL very kindly sent over their Rouge Volupte Shine Oil-in-Stick Lipstick in 48 Smoking Plum, I kind of thought I would have to tuck it into a drawer until the summer was over. Happily though, I was seriously wrong – who knew a plum lip could be a summer staple?

YSL Rouge Volupte 48 1

Packaged in the brand’s signature golden bullet, I don’t think that the lipstick could be any more glamorous! It’s nicely weighted, and it feels super special to use. The formula is an absolute dream too! Even though 48 Smoking Plum is quite a pigmented lipstick, it just glides onto the lips, feeling much more akin to a soft balm. It has a wonderfully fruity taste which doesn’t veer into overpowering, and it’s so easy to pop into my makeup bag for touchups.

YSL Rouge Volupte 48 2

The colour is absolutely gorgeous, and I love the way I can dab a little on during the day to get a your-lips-but-better shade, or with a heavier hand achieve a deeper colour of pout. On the lips, 48 Smoking Plum is a beautiful, almost wine shade that makes teeth look white, and would be so pretty with a tan. It feels nicely unexpected to wear at this time of year, and I can totally see myself reaching for it well into the fall!

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Oil-in-Stick is priced at £26 and is available here (UK) and here (US)

Lancome Juicy Shaker – Boom Meringue

Lancome Juicy Shaker Boom Meringue

So I guess that it’s fair to say that I’ve developed something of a collection of Lancome Juicy Shakers, because when I popped into Boots a few weeks ago, I just couldn’t resist treating myself to my fourth shade – Boom Meringue.

Lancome Juicy Shaker Boom Meringue 1

A beautiful candy pink in the bottle, Boom Meringue is the absolute perfect shade for giving lips a touch of natural looking colour and shine, and I’ve been using it pretty much non stop since I grabbed it! Like all of the Juicy Shakers that I’ve tried, the formula is perfection, it feels like a light oil on the lips – nourishing and not too slippery, and it leaves lips with the perfect amount of subtle sheen. The scent is incredible, it’s a super sweet almost vanilla which manages to not be sickly, and everyone I’ve shown it to loves it! The baby pink colour is just so pretty too! I love it for balancing out a heavier eye makeup look, or if I just want to look naturally polished. My one issue might be that it doesn’t stay on the lips for too long, but when application is as fun as it is with Juicy Shakers, I don’t even mind!

Lancome’s new Boom Meringue Juicy Shaker is priced at £18.00 and is available here (UK) and here (US).

MAC Cremesheen Glass – Such Sweeties

MAC Cremesheen Glass Such Sweeties

To be honest, I’ve not bought anything from MAC for quite a while. Even though their collections are always super fun, and very beautiful, they don’t often suit my style of makeup. The colours seem a little too pigmented, or they just seem a little off in a way. All that changed though when I caught sight of their Flamingo Park Collection!MAC Cremesheen Glass Such Sweeties 1

Filled with the most beautiful pink shades you can imagine, Flamingo Park was just too good not to dip into, so I treated myself to the Cremesheen Glass in Such Sweeties. It’s not going to revolutionise the wheel, and it looks awfully similar to a million other lip glosses I own, but the truth is, it’s an absolute winner of a shade! I’m obsessed with the not-too-light pink shade which is so easy to wear, and I’ve been reaching for it daily since I purchased it.

MAC Cremesheen Glass Such Sweeties 1

The formula contains the teeniest flecks of blue shimmer, so teeth look ultra white, and I just love the rich, balmy feel. I had forgotten how fun MAC glosses are, and I can’t wait to try some more shades. I would love to hear your suggestions!

MAC Cremesheen Glass in Such Sweeties is priced at £17.50 and is available here (UK) and here (US)
