Rahua Enchanted Island Salt Spray*

I know that salt sprays are usually the preserve of summer beauty hauls, but now that we’re truly in autumn, my hair has been feeling all sorts of blah, and the only thing that I’ve found to add a little life to it has been Rahua’s Enchanted Island Salt Spray.

After washing and blowdrying my hair, I put my head upside down and spritz the salt spray into my roots. Then I blow dry on the cool setting, and massage my roots a little. The Salt Spray works absolute magic – it doesn’t dry out hair, or leave roots looking greasy. Instead, it gives hair a magic dose of volume which lasts all day.

Rahua Enchanted Island Salt Spray is priced at £32 and is available here (UK) and here (US)

Kerastase Bain Satin 1

fullsizeoutput_785

I’m not sure about you, but there are a few products which I’ve used for absolutely years, and I can’t be without. When I say I’ve had a bottle of Kerastase’s Bain Satin 1 in my closet since childhood, it’s no lie – my mother used to send me to swim class with a bottle of it in my gym bag! Having thick, wavy hair before straighteners were such a big thing meant that frizz was (and still is) the enemy so using a product which really nourished ends was a must have!

Now, with ends which have been all too damaged by bleach and heat styling, every third or so wash, I find myself reaching for the familiar ivory and orange bottle. The formula is incredibly rich and nourishing, and it foams beautifully. I only need a 10p sized blob to thoroughly wash my hair. I then follow up with a Kerastase hair masque. It’s an integral part of my haircare routine, and I can’t see that changing any time soon!

Kerastase Bain Satin is priced at £17.90 and is available here (UK) and here (US)

Arconic Curved Paddle Brush*

If you’ve got medium or long hair, I’m pretty sure you know the hassle of blow dries! Since my hair just looks weird if I don’t wash it every morning, I’m well acquainted with numerous blow dry techniques (I can’t even tell you how many big round brushes I own!), but I’m always looking for something to make my mornings easier!

DSC_0926

The Arconic Curved Paddle Brush is one of those inventions you wonder why no-one thought of previously. It’s like your favourite paddle brush fused with your favourite barrel brush, and it means that blowing your hair out has never been easier or quicker!

The brush has been designed especially for medium to long hair and as a result, it’s quite a big thing to wield, but the size of the brush head, means that it really gets through hair – detugging like a dream and it’s comfortable to hold, as well as easy to use.

Thanks to the design, the brush pulls hair taught as you blow dry it, and the bend gives hair the perfect amount of bounce. It means that getting a salon-worthy blowout has never been easier, and I swear it’s taken at least ten minutes off my regular blow dries!

The Arconic Paddle brush is priced at £19.99 and is available here.

Kiehl’s Smoothing Oil-Infused Shampoo & Conditioner*

As someone with hair that’s been somewhat mistreated, I’m always on the lookout for products which are going to undo some of the damage I’ve inflicted. After bleaching, daily heat styling and having frizzy hair to begin with, any product which offers to smooth and hydrate it good for me. So, when Kiehl’s Smoothing Oil-Infused Shampoo popped through the letter box, I knew it was destined to be good!

DSC_0405

I’d never tried any haircare from Kiehl’s before, but considering I’ve never failed with their skincare, it was only a mater of time until I did! Packaged in Keihl’s signature apothecary-style packaging, the shampoo was the first part of the range I tried.

Applied to wet hair, it foams beautifully, despite being sulphate-free, and I love the scent. Even before slathering on the conditioner, my hair felt a whole lot smoother after using the shampoo.

After squeezing as much water out of my ends, I apply a generous dollop of the conditioner to my lengths and ends. I then leave it on for as long as possible – just as long as I can hang about in the shower really, then hose it all off. I can’t even tell you how much of a difference this duo makes. Hair is so soft and smooth, and blow drying it is an absolute dream – I hardly even need to look at my straighteners after using it, and it feels so, so soft and shiny!

Kiehl’s Smoothing Oil-Infused Shampoo is priced at £16 and the Conditioner is priced at £19 and both are available here.

Windle & Moodie Shine and Smoothing Oil*

I’m not sure that there is anything quite as lovely has having a head full of soft and shiny hair, especially in the summer when you want your beauty routine to be as minimal as possible. But, when you’re blonde, and when you batter your hair about as much as I do, it can be hard to keep it shiny and healthy.

DSC_0947

Just as an example, in the past fortnight, my entire head has been bleached twice, toned three times and I have to blow dry and straighten my hair daily. Not exactly ideal, so, in efforts to appease my hair sins, I’ve been adding as much nourishment into my routine as possible. Just out of the shower, after spraying on a little protective spray, I smooth a couple of pumps of this through the ends, and then get to grips with my Tangle Teezer. It disappears into my hair, and even when it’s wet, it feels far smoother than before.

Then, after blow drying with a round brush, I smooth a pump of the Shine and Smoothing Oil through the ends before I tackle them with the straighteners. The oil just disappears into my stressed ends, softening the look of split ends and adding a wonderful sheen to the lengths which lasts all day long!

Windle & Moodie Shine and Smoothing Oil is priced at £21 and is available here
