When it comes to winter evenings, is there anything better than a cosy early night? I’m really not sure you can beat it, and when it means you get to enjoy an evening snuggled up with Silentnight’s new Waffle Fleece Duvet Cover and Pillowcase Set, well, it’s even better!

Normally known for making the dreamiest of mattresses, the brand has branched out into homeward offerings, so I absolutely jumped at the chance to try some of their new bedding. 2020 will see me making a few home changes and updates (fingers crossed), so it felt like the perfect time to try out some gorgeous new bedding.

Part of the brand’s new collection, the set has been designed to help you have a great night’s sleep whilst looking great too! Available across single, double, king and super king sizes, the whole range is available in a palette of chic, neutral tones, and for chilly winter nights, the waffle fleece options couldn’t be cosier!

Incredibly soft, and super lightweight, the Waffle Duvet Cover and Pillowcase set has become a firm favourite over the past couple of weeks as I’ve tried it out. I love the grey shade, and it works with a variety of interior styles, so you can enjoy a glorious long-lie, no matter what your interiors style!

Coupled with crisp white linens, the set feels like a refreshing change for the new year, and it’s incredibly easy to use, thanks to the fabric’s light weight, and the popper fastenings. As a bit of a fresh-bedding-aholic, it’s crucial that the set is machine washable (at 40°C), I can throw it in the washing machine, tumble dry and enjoy a fluffy night of comfort quickly and easily (it doesn’t even need ironed!).

Silentnight’s Waffle Fleece Duvet Cover and Pillowcase Set it available from £40 here.

Planning some big purchases with BoConcept*

In a few months, I turn the big three-oh. It’s equal parts exciting and terrifying. I’m not quite sure when my twenties have run off to, and even though I still kind of feel like I should be heading off to lectures, I’m now handling a whole lot more responsibility with work. I’m also prone to now lust after home goods, rather than handbags. In my search for investments which are going to last a lifetime, I’ve fallen in love with BoConcept, and if you’re in the same position as me, I’d very much recommend heading through to their furniture stores in Glasgow. I’m obsessed with the brand’s paired back, Scandinavian aesthetic. Equal parts mid-century cook and clean modern lines, the pieces are no doubt classics which will never date.

I’m currently looking for a few key pieces for my house and office, and honesty, the Amsterdam corner sofa is possibly the chicest sofa I’ve ever seen. The sleek lines mean it will always look stylish, and can you get any cosier that grey velvet? Priced at £5118 it’s undoubtedly an investment, but when you think that you’ll be able to enjoy it for decades to come, it doesn’t feel quite so spendy!

I’ve also been on the hunt for a desk which is going to see me through work and blogging. As someone who works from home, and from a computer, I tend to spend hours in the office staring at my screens. So having an office which looks good and performs well is seriously important to me. The Cupertino Desk  meets all my needs and looks good doing it! I just love the white lacquered finish, and the drawers mean I can tuck all my papers and wires away and keep the place looking tidy. It’s also got enough room to spread out, so no matter if I’m working on my desktop or laptop, there’s more than enough room!

As a rule, I tend to opt for interiors which are as tidy and streamlined as possible, but it’s easy to let that veer too far into cold and clinical, so I absolutely love these stunning Velvet Cushions. Priced at £49, they’re an affordable way to inject a little colour and texture into the room, and I am obsessed with this dusky rose shade. It looks gorgeous with my neutral interiors, and feels beautifully feminine without being overly girly. In addition to wanting these for the sofa, they’d look gorgeous in a bedroom too!

Although committing to big interior purchases can feel intimidating, when they’re as gorgeous as BoConcept’s offerings, you know you won’t regret them!

Thank you to BoConcept for sponsoring this post.

Moi Beauty – Edinburgh*

dsc_0915

A few months ago I took something of a pledge to take better care of myself, and as a result I’ve been sampling some of the best spas and nail bars Edinburgh has to offer! Last week, Moi Beauty in Edinburgh’s Morningside was on my must-visit list, when I was kindly invited to give their Luxury Shellac Mani and Pedi.

The salon is an absolute haven in the city – all exposed brick walls and white; it feels more New York than Edinburgh. I popped in on a rather dull Saturday morning, and the welcome couldn’t be warmer. I was ushered in out of the drizzle, shown to one of the salon chairs and tasked with choosing my colours.

Shellac is no joke at Moi Beauty – I’m not sure that I’ve ever come across a bigger selection of colours to choose from! Even though my heart was all about the pink and neon, my head prevailed and I opted for chic and understated nude for my fingers and a deep chocolate for my toes.

dsc_0938

My morning started with my Luxury Shellac Pedicure, and it was exactly what I needed! While I poured over Hello! magazine, my therapist Claire got to work. My feel were buffed, exfoliated and massaged, and honestly, I have to say, Claire worked miracles! My heels were filed into submission, any a bit of reflexology soothed away the week’s stress. Then, once the Shellac had been applied and dried, my feet were dipped into bags of liquid paraffin to soften them even further.

Then, once the paraffin had hardened and been peeled off, I popped over to the nail bar for a Shellac manicure. Considering I had peeled off a three week old shellac manicure the night before, my nails weren’t in the best of shape. Claire didn’t so much as blink, and got to grips with her clippers and files, leaving my fingers looking immeasurably better!

My cuticles were softened and clipped, and I was buffed into having hands that look like they belong to an adult! My beige polish is just beautiful, and it’s such a great choice for a long-wearing polish, as it goes with absolutely everything! It was such a heavenly way to start the weekend, and a week later, my nails still look perfect!

Thank you so much to Moi Beauty for having me! You can find their website here.

A mix of some of my favourite blooms; roses and hydrangeas, along with a selection of other little beauties were arranged into a huge pom pom of flowers. It was such a fun and unusual way to see to display flowers, and once I got home, I popped them straight into a large crystal fishbowl vase which I’ve just been dying to use!

The bouquet is absolutely perfect for a Valentines treat! It makes me smile every time I look at them, and they’ve easy lasted five days since delivery, and they’re still going strong!

Thank you so much to Quintessentially Flowers. Bouquets start at £60.00 and are available here

La Gent and Apparatus Censer

APPARATUS-STUDIO---CENSER---GROUP-AGAINST-MARBLE-(OPTION) copy

Over the past few years I’ve gotten seriously into interiors. I’m pretty sure it comes from my mother who can debate the merits of putty vs ecru for hours if you let her, but all kidding aside, the care she takes with interior design is something impressive!

Since my own taste has turned out to be something on the minimalist side (I can’t really deal with too many colours or patterns) I’m always on the look out for object d’art which are both completely functional as well as incredibly beautiful. My latest lusting is taking place over this beautiful Apparatus Censur from new luxury retail La Gent.

La Gent has managed to stock New York’s amazing lighting company Apparatus, who produce the most stunning pieces which feel both incredibly original yet the fact that they’re handmade really give them a sense of heritage. This Censer can be used to burn incense, or you can even pop a tea light under the ceramic dome for a beautiful light.

As you can tell, I’m pretty bowled over by Apparatus’ designs, so I’m seriously saving up for a couple of pieces. It’s not easy though, La Gent has a really incredibly curated selection of home wear, beauty and even fashion. Unfortunately, it is aimed towards men, so I’ve not had much luck in the swimwear department! But, the site is incredibly beautiful to look through, and everything on it looks like it’s been plucked from some stylish Downtown NY apartment!

You can find the Apparatus Censer here and check out www.la-gent.com for some serious lust list making!
