James Webster at Laura Mercier – Harvey Nichols Edinburgh*

DSC_0756

So I’m not sure that there are better ways to begin a Friday evening than getting primed and preened at the Harvey Nichols’ Laura Mercier counter by makeup artist James Webster. Fresh from beautifying celebrities at the Brit Awards and BAFTAs, James spent the weekend in Edinburgh.

DSC_0767

So, after settling on an amped-up neutrals look, James got to work whilst I quizzed him over everything from serums to lipgloss. As well as being the loveliest of chaps, he is ridiculously knowledgeable. Getting the chance to play with everything from skincare to mascaras really gives you the opportunity to find out which products are going to work best for you, and I guarantee, if you pop into the store you’re going to come away with the  longest wish list you can imagine!

DSC_0747

As James created the most beautiful, effortless smoky eye (with the most lust-worthy selection of shadows and brushes) I quizzed him on the best ways to apply foundation (worked into the skin with a sponge) as well as on his favourite Laura Mercier products. The hour absolutely flew by, and I found a whole slew of products I need in my arsenal (namely a hydrating skin spray, the rose skin serum and cream, a new tube of Radiance Primer and a rather delightful lipstick).

If you’re in the mood for a bit of a Spring re-do of your makeup bag, I would seriously recommend hitting up your nearest Harvey Nichols’ Laura Mercier!

Mothers Day Chocolates – Prestat*

DSC_0778

When it comes to Mother’s Day, you know you have to bring the goods. As well as a bunch of the most beautiful flowers you can find, you have to, of course, get the most delicious chocolates you can find.

DSC_0798

Thankfully, Prestat have made it so, so to easy get serious brownie points with boxes of their incredible chocolates.

DSC_0801

I think if my mother had to choose her favourite flavours, either rose or violet would be up there, so when this stunning box came through the letterbox, she couldn’t have been happier!

DSC_0827

The truffles couldn’t be prettier – topped off with a candied petal, they look like jewels in a box. The chocolates themselves are the smoothest dark chocolate, which hold a smooth filling which bursts with the floral flavours.

DSC_0873

Next up are the Prestat’s Pink Marc de Champagne Truffles. To be honest, Pink Champagne truffles are among my favourites, and I was blown away with how good these ones were! The chocolate shell had the perfect amount of ‘snap’ and inside there is a soft, almost gooey centre. Unlike some I’ve tried, the alcohol doesn’t overwhelm the taste, instead there’s just a soft whiff of champagne with white chocolate. A must try!

DSC_0856

When the box of Prestat goodness arrived, the Yuzu truffles were the ones I got most excited about. I love an exotic flavour, and I’ve been dying to try yuzu for a while. The truffles themselves, are dark chocolate shells with a wonderfully tart, almost lemon curd-like filling. They are insanely good, and I’ve already bought a second box (a truffle with a good espresso is just divine!)

Prestat Rose and Violet Cremes are priced at £17.50, Pink Marc de Champagne truffles are priced at £13.00 and the Yuzu truffles are priced at £13.00. They’re all available here

Appleyard London Lemon Drizzle Bouquet*

DSC_0478

So I’m absolutely astonished it’s coming up to Mother’s Day already – 2016 is completely whizzing by (I’m still guilty of writing 2015 about 50% of the time!) and it’s time to start thinking about the best ways to treat your mum! Appleyard London‘s bouquets are a sure-fire hit, and they make it super easy to earn a whole lot of brownie points without trying too hard.

DSC_0482

When Appleyard London kindly allowed me to pick out of of their glorious bouquets of mother’s day flowers, so I went for the Lemon Drizzle. It’s a mix of bouquet of pink  sweet avalanche roses, lemon carnations, crisp white blooms and lemon flair hypericum berries. I just adore the mix of flowers and berries, and it looks so special in a beautiful crystal vase in the breakfast room.

DSC_0555

Appleyard London have an absolutely incredible selection of bouquets to choose from if your fancy treating someone to some mother’s day flowers. They run the gamut from spring-fresh, full of daises and lilies, to full blown glamour filled with roses.

DSC_0555

As well as being absolutely beautiful, I am just obsessed with how much of a great gift they are! They come posted in a huge big grey box which keeps the flowers absolutely pristine, and they come wrapped in layers and layers of tissue, meaning you don’t even need to wrap them!

DSC_0472

I also love the attention to detail from Appleyard London. Not only are the flowers an absolute knockout, but they come with plant food, a card and instructions on how best to care for them. It’s really these little touches which make the whole experience an absolute joy.

DSC_0492

Appleyard London flowers are also as long-lasting as they are beautiful. I got six days of perfection, then I just picked out the blooms which were looking a little tired, and got an extra four days!

DSC_0503

If you’re looking to really make someone’s Mother’s Day special, I couldn’t recommend Appleyard London enough! Even better news is that I have a sneaky discount you can use! Just enter BLOGGER33 at checkout for 33% off your bouquet!

Triumph Spring/Summer 2016 Collection*

DSC_0332

So, this weekend is Valentines, which invariably means it’s time to treat yourself to some rather luxurious underwear.

DSC_0324

Even if you don’t have that special someone, it’s probably time to update your underwear drawer. We’re a month and a half into the year, and it’s a good point to go get re-fitted and treat yourself a little! I’ve been absolutely lusting after basically all of Triumph’s new collection, as I love how the pieces are comfortable enough to wear all day yet pretty enough to feel incredibly special!

DSC_0313

I’m absolutely obsessed with the colour palette in Triumph’s Spring Summer 16 collection.  The mix of neutrals shades feels so chic and elegant to wear, and the attention to detail is spotless. From lace trims to tiny diamante finishes, Triumph’s underwear is the perfect mix of function and form.

The fabrics Triumph use are beautifully soft and comfortable, and I love the softly moulded cups, which gives the perfect amount of coverage and support, and keeps you looking perky!

Triumph’s Spring / Summer 2016 is available now, and you can find it here

Appleyard London Large Belle Bouquet*

DSC_0621

With Valentine’s Day hitting this weekend, I couldn’t wait to share this absolutely stunning bouquet of Valentine’s flowers which Appleyard London very kindly sent over.

DSC_0599

DSC_0605

The bouquet features baby pink sweet avalanche roses, white avalanche roses and lilac memory lane roses along with sprigs of silver eucalyptus.

DSC_0616

DSC_0526

The bouquet is available in three sizes, and I opted for the large. It’s got to be my favourite bunch of flowers I think I’ve ever recieved!

DSC_0512DSC_0485

Packaged in a sturdy gray box, my flowers were delivered to my by a courier, and came complete with card, arranged in water and with a sachet of plant food. Considering they had made the trek from London to Edinburgh, all the roses were perfectly fresh, and the scent of them was just sublime!

DSC_0533DSC_0512

As you can see, I got a little snap happy with the flowers, but can you blame me? The mix of ivory, pink and lavender was just the prettiest you can imagine. I adore the mix, and it looked really stunning in a big crystal vase in my bedroom.

DSC_0470DSC_0578

Appleyard London guarantee their flowers for at least seven days, and I have to say, my Belle Bouquet easily lasted for ten before looking a little droopy. Even then, I just edited the flowers down a little and downsized the vase for a few extra days of floral lovliness.

DSC_0616DSC_0398

If you’ve fallen for the Belle Bouquet like I have (it’s seriously jaw-dropping) Appleyard London have been kind enough to give you an amazing 33% of any of their floral arrangements – just enter the discount code BLOG33. I absolutely adored my flowers, and I’m already deciding which ones to order next!

The Appleyard London Belle Bouquet is priced from £49.99 and is available here

Holly Blue Salon, Church Hill, Edinburgh*

DSC_0037

I’m always looking for the best little spots to go to in Edinburgh, and on Thursday I found an absolute gem in the form of the Holly Blue salon on Church Street in Edinburgh’s Morningside.

DSC_0040

I first popped in as part of a bring a friend evening, where we got to have a look around the salon, sip bubbly, chatwith the therapists, and watch as magic was performed in the form of HD Brows and LVL Lashes demonstrations.

DSC_0036

The salon itself offers every sort of treatment from waxing to manis and pedis, so when I got the chance to try one of their signature manicures using CND Vinylux polish, I absolutely jumped at the chance!

DSC_0041

So, last night, after a rather tiring day at work, I hopped up to Morningside for an hour or so of pampering!

DSC_0006

The salon itself is a little jewel box of relaxation, tucked away from the buzz of the city. High ceilings, soft music and butterflies all combine to create the absolute perfect place to get all girly -There are shelves and shelves of polishes, shellac and glitter to choose from, so you can imagine how excited I was!

DSC_0008

Since my nails were’t in exactly in tip top condition, I opted for a neutral shade of Vinylux polish. I’d never tried CND’s new formula before, but since it promises up to seven days of shiny, chip-free wear, I went for a stunning baby pink (middle row third from right).

DSC_0035

I was looked after by Sophie, who, by all accounts is a complete miracle worker! My dry and ragged cuticles were clipped, nails filed, buffed and shaped, and within an hour I swear, my nails looked longer and felt a million times better!

DSC_0015

The CND Vinylux applied smoothly, and was completely opaque in two coats. It even dried remarkably quickly! I haven’t really stopped looking at my hands since it was done, as the look and feel so much better than before. I love a pale pink or super vampy nail, but if you’re braver than me, Holly Blue offer the widest selection of glitters and nail art you can imagine! I’ve already booked up my next appointment!

Thank you so much to Holly Blue Salon for having me!

Charbonnel et Walker Fine Milk & Dark Chocolate Red Heart*

DSC_0623

A box of chocolate for Valentine’s Day is something of a no-brainer, but I think it’s safe to say that Charbonnel et Walker have completely blown  typical chocolates out of the window with their stunning new Fine Milk & Dark Chocolate Heart which has been released just in time for Valentines.

DSC_0630

Coming wrapped in a beautiful ivory satin ribbon, the box of chocolates is an absolute treat to unwrap, and it has to be the prettiest choice I’ve come across!

DSC_0650

Underneath the mounds of ribbon is the most glorious of illustrations by Queen’s Scholar Kerry Lemon. Her specially-commissioned peacock sweeps over the top of the box, referencing Victorian courting traditions, whilst it’s little crown is a subtle reference to Charbonnel’s Royal Warrant.

DSC_0680

Like all good boxes of chocolates, tucked inside the lid is a little menu of the goodies inside. Charbonnel’s is a stunning gold and ivory confection which is the loveliest way to ponder over which chocolates to select!

DSC_0690

Inside is every chocolate lover’s dream! Tucked snugly into little compartments is a rather decadent selection of the brand’s truffles.

DSC_0697

There are flavours to suit everyone – from gloriously rich and boozy to light and fruity, one of the truffles is the perfect accompaniment to a cup of coffee, or a sweet way to end a meal.

DSC_0688

Inside there’s a great balance of milk and dark chocolate, and getting to select them from such a stunning box is such a wonderful way to celebrate Valentines Day!

DSC_0734

The special edition peacock-adorned boxes are available in a selection of Charbonnel et Walker’s chocolates, so if you would prefer to feast only on Champagne or Salted Caramel truffles, they’ve got you covered!

Charbonnel et Walker’s Peacock Fine Milk and Dark Red Heart is priced at £30 and is available here

If you have a baby then it is always good to use best crib mattress for better comfort.

Valentines Day at Harvey Nichols

556020_gold_and_other_1

So we’ve already hit February 1st, so I don’t feel too bad about sharing these gorgeous little treats that Harvey Nichols has right in time for Valentines Day. I know it’s not everyone’s favorite holiday, but I’m something of a fan. If there’s a chance to shamelessly enjoy some chocolate and bubbles, who isn’t going to indulge? How adorable are the Love and XOXO earrings from Maria Francesca Pepe, they’re a bit of a steal at £70.00 (here)

569749_honey_1

I’ve been lusting after Fendi’s Monster bag charms for what feels like an age! Valentines might just be the perfect time to cave in! They’re something of an investment, but I can’t get enough of the fluff! They’re priced at £510 here.

574041_addiction_1

If you want a little treat that’s easier on your wallet, Laura Mercier’s new Velour Lovers Lipstick is the perfect choice! They’re available in a rainbow of colour saturated shades, and they’re the perfect choice for sealing those cards with a kiss. They’re priced at £22 and are available here.

408515_1

Last up is a Valentines essential – you simply can’t celebrate without some fizz! Harvey Nichols’ champagnes and proseccos are some of my favourites! The Two’s Company gift box includes a 375ml bottle of Rose Champagne along with two glasses so you can share with your favourite person. It’s such an adorably simple gift, and it’s only £40 (here).

Lululemon & Yoghanda at Lululemon Edinburgh

DSC_0366

A few months ago, a new Lululemon store opened up right in the middle of Edinburgh’s George Street, and if you’re not familiar with the brand, you pretty much owe it to yourself to have a good look around!

DSC_0339

The store is completely filled with the most swoon-worthy yoga wear.

DSC_0330

There are cuts and colours to suit everyone, and their leggings are some of the softest and comfiest I own.

DSC_0356

They also have the best selection of yoga accessories you can imagine – towers of mats, bundles of water bottles and bags, they have the cutest stuff (I dare you to go into the store and leave empty handed).

DSC_0297

As if the store wasn’t stunning enough already, if you slip downstairs there is the cosiest of yoga studio tucked beneath the store. Lululemon hold classes down there weekly, and the best part of it is, they are completely free! It’s such a nice idea if you’re just looking to start practicing yoga, or if you want to practice your vinyasas.

DSC_0294The Resolution Revolution class was a little different to the normal offerings, as the store had invited Sinéad Duffy, the creator of Yoghanda Oils over to talk about her brand and how best to use them.

DSC_0417

Sinéad is such an inspiring speaker – she’s a qualified yoga teacher, and her line is just divine, so getting tips on how to really focus energy towards our goals was truly inspiring.

DSC_0384

A lot of what Sinéad recommends is body-led, you can go up, smell all the different fragrances and see what your body responds best to. It sounds so simple, but actually taking a few minutes out of your day to really listen to yourself is incredibly important.

DSC_0428

She also talked about how the different oils can help with your different intentions. If you feel you want to cleanse yourself of energy the Detox Oil is the one for you, or, if you need a sense of calm, the Relax Oil is probably best.

DSC_0426

The Yoghanda Oils range includes three rollerballs and three body oils, and I have to say, they are some of my most used body care! Every night I massage a couple of drops of the Relax Body Oil into my arms and chest to help me calm down and unwind. The fragrance is really beautiful – a blend of lavender and vetiver which is just heavenly after a long day!

DSC_0458

Then, after listening to Sinéad and letting her guide everyone through breathing exercises, it was time for the class to begin.

DSC_0498

Crystal from New Town’s gorgeous new Tribe Yoga studio led the class, which was filled with everyone’s favourite stretches.

DSC_0491

DSC_0492

The classes are such a wonderful way to practice yoga with some of the city’s best teachers, and they have such a lovely community feel.

DSC_0474

The mix of levels means that no matter how new or experienced you are, you won’t feel like your on your own.

Thank you so much to Lululemon Edinburgh and Yoghanda Oils for inviting me

Avon Active*

DSC_0005

When I found out that Avon had newly launched a line of sportswear, I was intrigued to say the least! In my mind the brand is synonymous with bubble baths and body lotions, so hearing that they had a rather gorgeous sportswear line, I knew I had to try it out! I was very kindly sent an outfit, which I’ve been trying out in the gym over the past week or so, and I have to say, I’ve been impressed! Perhaps my favourite item from the range is the Active Longline Reversible Sports Bra. Priced at a seriously affordable £12.00 (although it’s currently on offer for £10) you can either wear it as a chic navy bra which is trimmed with the neon yellow, or, for a pop of colour, you can wear it as an all yellow number. The material is lovely and soft, and it has a decent amount of support if you’re into high impact exercise.

DSC_0027

The Avon Active Full Length Leggings are a gorgeous way to look chic and pulled together whilst getting sweaty. I think the blue and yellow combination is super fun. The material has CoolDry technology, which means you’ll feel as cool as possible during the hardest workouts.

DSC_0030

The waistband of the pants has a really beautiful watercolour pattern, and I love how well designed the pants are. The waistband has a handy little pouch tucked into the back which is just big enough for a couple of cards, a phone or some cash.

DSC_0018

If you’re looking for something to pop on after yoga, I’m in love with the Avon Active Open Back Top. It’s a really stunning navy colour, and it might just be the comfiest t shirt I own! It’s so easy just to pop on, and although it looks pretty basic from the back – there’s a surprise when you turn around!

DSC_0021

The back has the most gorgeous open detailing which feels so fun to wear!

DSC_0007

Last, but certainly not least, are the Avon Active Shockwave Trainers which I’ve been completely smitten with all week! Decorated with the same watercolor design as the legging’s waist band, the navy trainers look slick on, and I love the change from my regular black ones! The soles are wonderfully padded, and they are just the comfiest things to pop on. I’ve worn mine through a variety of workout classes, from kettlebells to BodyCombat, and they’ve been absolutely great!

Magnitone Barefaced*

Magnitone Barefaced Pink

As a rule, I really try to take care of my skin. There’s only so much makeup can hide, and I think there isn’t anything prettier than a glowy, barefaced look. Thankfully, Magnitone London have made keeping skin squeaky clean super easy with their stunning Barefaced brush.

Magnitone Barefaced Pink 1

Available in a range of four colours, I opted for the rather gorgeous pink option. It’s definitely the prettiest way to cleanse every morning and night, and the cheery colour never fails to make me smile! Promising to deep cleanse, exfoliate and condition skin, I thought that this would be the perfect tool to help me stick with my skincare resolutions.

Magnitone Barefaced Pink 2

The brush couldn’t be simpler to use – I add a little of my foaming cleanser to the brush head, run it under a little water and I’m good to go! Since the brushes have a vibra-sonic technology, the Magnitone Barefaced really cleans out skin, and keeps pores far clearer than you could even hope to get using your hands or a flannel.

Magnitone Barefaced Pink 3

It honestly couldn’t be easier to incorporate the Magnitone Barefaced into your skincare regime. It’s 100% waterproof, so mine lives in the shower, meaning that it’s on hand to use every morning.

Magnitone Barefaced Pink 4

The bristles of the Magnitone Barefaced are beautifully soft, meaning that even sensitive skin like mine isn’t irritated by regular use. Another handy feature is the built in timer –  it beeps every 20 seconds then turns off after a minute. This means you can’t overdo it! I absolutely adore how much of a difference the Barefaced Magnitone has made to my skin, you have to try it!

Magnitone Barefaced is priced at £70 and is available here.
