Bobbi Brown Luxe Lipstick – Uber Nude*

When Bobbi Brown’s brand new Wine & Chocolate collection popped through the letterbox, it’s fair to say that I got a little giddy. It’s the first of the Christmas collections to arrive, and I have to say, it’s a good one!

The collection has three new shades of the Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Colors – Tawny, a rich brown; Your Majesty, a saturate wine shade, and Uber Nude, a warm natural which is the stuff of dreams.

Uber Nude is the first of the brand’s Luxe Lip Colors that I’ve tried, and I have to say, I’ve fallen more than a little in love with them! They’re basically everything you hope for when you crack into a new lippy – beautiful colour, great colour payoff, good wear time and they even feel balmy on the lips!

Uber Nude is basically the culmination every neutral-lip wish you’ve made ever. It’s a warm, pinky shade which is incredibly easy to wear. During the day it’s the perfect shade for an effortlessly chic makeup look. Paired with a natural, smudgy brown eyeshadow, it’s wonderfully subtle, and adds a hint of polish to a deceivingly simple look. Then, at night, it’s the ideal counterpoint for a more dramatic eye. Dark, smoky shadow looks so chic when paired with Uber Nude, and I have to say, I couldn’t be more in love!

Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color is priced at £25

Elizabeth Arden Limited Edition Beautiful Color Lipstick – Matte Chocolate*

fullsizeoutput_9f7

So I think it’s fair to say, nineties fashion is having a major moment. The amount of chokers, crop tops and velvet in the shops doesn’t lie, so it was only a matter of time until beauty shelves had a bit of a flashback too.

fullsizeoutput_9f9

I’m in my mid-twenties, so was a tad young to hop on the super dark lips bandwagon the first time around (although I pretty much single handedly kept Hard Candy in business). So seeing the amount of chocolatey goodness on the beauty counters at the moment is a real flashback. Elizabeth Arden kindly sent over their new and limited edition Beautiful Color Lipstick in Matte Chocolate, which is just the shade if you’re looking for a bit of glamorous grunge.

Matte Chocolate is a stunning red-toned brown, which, in my opinion, is the most flattering way to wear the trend. After applying a light base and dusting of bronzer, I primed my lips with a little balm, then applied straight from the tube. Matte Chocolate applied wonderfully smoothly with an insane colour payoff. Unlike liquid lipsticks, which tend to feel super drying, Matte Chocolate is a creamy affair which just glides on. And it doesn’t shift either! I got three hours before I noticed a slight fading, but a quick swipe got it back to it’s best! Is this the best brown lipstick? I think so!

Elizabeth Arden’s Beautiful Color Lipstick in Matte Chocolate is available here for £21

Lancome Juicy Shaker – Show Me the Honey*

Ok, so it’s not exactly news that I’m a big fan of Lancome’s Juicy Shaker lip glosses. When they were released earlier this year, I kind of binged on them – collecting a handful of colours in a few weeks, and honestly, they’re still one of my most used products.

Show Me the Honey is probably the most neutral of my collection (which even contains a blue one) and it’s the perfect shade for everyday use. It’s a sheer, warm toned peach which makes lips look pretty and juicy – and really, what more can you ask for?

lancome-juicy-shaker-show-me-the-honey-1

Like all Juicy Shakers, Show Me the Honey, has a bi-phase formula which you shake prior to using. Then, using the foam applicator, you just dab the gloss onto lips. It has a moisturizing and super lightweight formula, so it’s perfect if you’re not a fan of a sticky gloss. Instead this just smoothes on, leaving lips feeling hydrated and looking gorgeous!

Lancome’s Juicy Shaker in Show Me the Honey is priced at £18.00 and is available here (UK) and is priced at $21 and is available here (US)

Bobbi Brown Sheer Color Cheek Tint – Telluride*

What I think I love most about Bobbi Brown make up is how pretty and easy it is. You’ll never see a Bobbi girl looking too made-up, too forced, or like she took hours to do her makeup. Instead, the brand is all about easy prettiness – like you on a really good day. And in the summer, what more could you want?

I’d never tried Bobbi Brown’s Sheer Color Cheek Tint before, so when a stick of it popped through the letterbox, I got rather excited! Available in a range of three shades which encompass a bright candy floss (the aptly named Bright Pink), a deep berry (Sheer Lilac), and mine, a warm toned bronze (Telluride).

If you’ve been lucky enough to spend a few weeks sunning yourself in more exotic climes than Edinburgh, you’ve pretty much got to treat yourself to a stick of Telluride. It’s the perfect warm bronze which will highlight your tan, and make the beach feel like it’s only a step or two away. Whilst, for those less fortunate, Telluride adds the perfect amount of subtle sheen and colour to let you convincingly fake that vacation glow.

Using the Sheer Color Stick couldn’t be easier. After applying a lightweight base (my current favourite is Chanel’s Vitalumiere Aqua with a couple of drops of oil in it) I swipe a couple of dots of the blush over the apples of my cheeks towards my temples, then, using a dampened Beauty Blender I blend it in, making sure that it buffs seamlessly into my skin. I absolutely love how easy it is to control the colour – if I want a sheer wash of colour I just need a quick swipe, but a more intense look is easily achieved with a firmer sweep and less buffing. On the skin, it looks so natural, and leaves a subtle glow behind which is seriously stunning. It’s also a great little multi-tool to pop into your handbag when you’re out and about. I love a little of the formula dabbed onto lips and eyelids for a little subtle definition.

Bobbi Brown’s Sheer Color Stick is priced at £19.50 and is available here.

Sensai Silky Design Rouge – Hiro*

DSC_0044_2

When it comes to makeup, I’m something of a neutrals fan. I love a smokey brown eye, a beige nail or a pinky nude lip, but sometimes you just need a pop of colour. Enter Sensai’s Silky Design Rouge, a slick lip crayon which feels like silk to apply and has the most wonderful colour payoff you can imagine!

DSC_0051_2

Available in a selection of six, super saturated shades which run the gamut from fuchsia to rich wine, Sensai’s Silky Design Rouge is perfect if you’re after a pop of colour. Since the crayons are narrow enough to use as both a liner and a lipstick, so if you’re in the process of choosing must-haves for your summer makeup bag, this one is a no brainer!

Hero is a stunning pink toned red which looks wonderful paired with tan skin and minimal eye makeup. It applied like an absolute dream, and I love how light yet moisturising it feels to wear. The Silky Design Rouge has a subtle sheen which looks so pretty and summer appropriate! In case you can’t tell already – I love it!

Sensai’s Silky Design Rouge in Hiro is priced at £28 and is available here.
