I Heart Lanvin Ballet Pumps

DSC01817

I have been waiting weeks and weeks for the weather to be nice enough to wear my cute little Lanvins, and I finally think I might be able to!
I got these a while ago, but I have just never found an occasion to debut the adorable little flats. Lanvin flats are such a staple, not only do they come in a million different colours and fabrics, but they are also ridiculously comfy to wear, and even have a concealed heel in there! These are glazed cotton, and I just love, love, love the watercolor-esque hearts on them. They are so different to all my other shoes – I am usually pretty plain, but who can resist the magic of Alber Elbaz?

Nars Creamy Concealer

DSC01744

Whenever any product has as much buzz as Nars’ Creamy Concealer has been enjoying, I just knew I had to try it.

I have been a fan of creamy concealers for about a year – I like having some coverage without the chalkiness which I’ve experienced with thicker formulas. The colour formulations by Nars are hard to beat – I always turn to their Vanilla shade since it is precisely my skin-tone without any yellow or red tones.

The concealer is packaged like a lipgloss, and the sponge tip applicator is perfect for use on the under eye area and around the nose. The concealer does a great job of concealing any shadows and brightening everything up. If I am suffering from any imperfections, I then turn to Nars’ other concealer – a thicker consistency which makes any pimples disappear completely. The longevity of both formulas is impressive – both stay put, without the need for touchups for at least 6 hours, and at no point does my face feel dry or look cakey. The duo of concealers are a must for your stash, and ensure your skin looks its best.

Nars Creamy Concealer is priced at £22.50 and is available here (UK) and here (US)

I am, what someone could fairly describe as a sunglasses snob. There is really nothing like a good pair to jazz up an outfit or make a rough day at least look better. View Post

The Dorchester

DSC01713

I’m somewhat a creature of habit, and whenever I’m in London, I stay at the Dorchester. Located on Park Lane, the hotel is a hop, skip and a jump away from my stomping ground of Harrods and the King’s Road and I love the cosy comfort of their chintzy rooms.

I hadn’t been down to London in a couple of years, and in the meantime, the hotel has undergone somewhat of a makeover. Gone are Laura Ashley florals, and in their place is an updated take on a country style. The room was still wonderfully cosy, but the colour palette was updated and the frills toned down a notch. Thankfully, my favorite aspects of the rooms remain the same – namely their pillows (seriously, these need to be squeezed to be believed), and their bathrooms.

Boasting the deepest baths in London, The Dorchester has a bathroom which is really the epitome of luxury. From the grey marble walls to baths deep enough to swim in, I literally spent half my time in the tub.

With toiletries selected from Aromatherapy Associates – bubble baths here cannot be beaten. Also – the little stool which you can use to towel off are such a wonderful little luxury – a new feature of my home bathroom!

It is the attention to details which really sets the hotel apart from its competitors – this incredible little bird was right outside my door, I am beyond obsessed with it!

The Dorchester really is the definition of old-school luxury, and it’s definitely my favourite little hideaway in the city. The spa is such a find too – imagine walls of Essie polishes and pearl chandeliers and you’re halfway there.

I had such a wonderful time at the hotel, and can’t wait to find the time to return (and I won’t be leaving a few years between visits this time).

I stayed in a Deluxe King Room, where rates start at £474 per night plus VAT
