Valentines Gift Guide: Feu de Beaumont Candles

So you can probably tell, I’m gearing up for Valentines in a big way. When I’ve been looking at various brands for presents (for both myself and a loved one) Feu de Beaumont jumped out with their swoon-worthy candles. View Post

Jo Malone Sweet Almond and Macaroon Candle*

One of the first expensive candles I ever bought was Jo Malone – it was the Gardenia one (they discontinued it, sob), and I got it for my first apartment when I was at uni. We weren’t technically allowed candles due to the lease, but it just sat on my fireplace, making my room smell divine! Fast forward a couple of years, and now Jo Malone has released a series of limited-edition candles which are inspired by Sunday Mornings.

So it’s definitely candle burning season and I can’t tell you how many I have stashed away to keep me going through the long, cold nights.

Jonathan Ward Josephine’s Rose Candle*

In the UK, it’s Mother’s Day this Sunday, I thought it would be appropriate to highlight some fun gift ideas which are a move away from the trashy and the cliched. The first of these suggestions would be the candle above.

One of Jonathan Ward’s newest offerings is the Josephine’s Rose candle – a rich and heady mix of rose and amber. Described as a velvet ball-gown of a scent, this is rose at its opulent finest – named for the Empress Josephine who was (and this is an understatement) obsessed with the flower.

Before you even light the double wicks, the room is filled with the rose fragrance – a lighter version of the scent which blossoms when the candle burns. The fragrance is deep and luxurious. The base notes of amber keeps the rose from becoming sickly sweet or veering into ‘old-lady’ territory.

Presented in hand-blown Italian glass, the candle is a thing of beauty – so much so I would consider keeping it for myself!

The large candle is priced at £32
