Clarins After Sun Shimmer Oil

Since it’s a Friday, I thought I would share something a little glamorous – and Clarins’ new After Sun Shimmer Oil really fits the bill!

Clarins After Sun Shimmer Oil Review

Packaged in a chic, slightly minimalist glass bottle, Clarins After Sun Shimmer Oil is the perfect addition to any summer tanning you might be planning. When you first pour a little out the bottle (and you do only need a tiny drop) the oil looks like it’s a shimmering puddle of molten copper. It really is the most gorgeous formula – once you have your shimmering little puddle, just massage it into your legs, arms and décolletage. The oil adds a perfect hint of warmth to the skin, and I just adore the rather subtle shimmer. It oil isn’t at all thick or greasy, and it smooths immediately into skin, and makes your legs look inches longer, as well as a bit thinner (and when is that a bad thing?)

The oil, when smoothed into skin leaves a really pretty, subtle sheen that makes skin look perfectly polished and almost airbrushed. I love to use it to disguise any little bruises or scars I have on my legs (thanks childhood lacrosse!) and I’m intrigued by the fact you can even use the After Sun Shimmer Oil on the ends of your hair! Hazelnut oil and Vitamin E work to soothe skin, and the oil has a delicately tropical scent thanks to the extracts of tonka bean, mandarin and grapefruit.

Clarins After Sun Shimmer Oil is priced at £32.00 and is available here.

Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster*

 Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster

Naturally my skin is pretty pale, although I do my best to disguise it with a quick dusting of bronzer every morning to give me what I hope is a healthy glow. But Clarins have introduced an absolutely genius product in the form of their Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster.

Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster 1

Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster is like a taylor-made self tanning product, as all you need to do in the morning is add up to three drops of the formula into your daily moisturiser, then just make sure you’ve massaged it all in.

The bottle is a rather dinky 15ml, but it’s more than enough for over 3 months of use – so if you invest now, the bottle will last well into summer! I’m also pretty addicted to the results.

Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster3

I just love the natural glow that the Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster gives – there isn’t a hint of orange, but it’s more like the colour you get after an afternoon outside in the sunshine. I’m also a huge fan of the lack of fragrance – there isn’t a trace of the weird biscuit scent you sometimes get with fake tans. I am also seriously impressed with how easy the booster is to control – I use 1 to 2 drops every second day, just to maintain a glow. If you do want to get a little bit of a deeper colour, you can use up to 3 drops daily, and if you feel your colour needs to tone down a little, you just skip a day! Simple!

Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster costs £18.00 and is available here.

Clarins Aquatic Treasures Summer Bronzing Compact*

Clarins Limited Edition Aquatic Treasures Summer Bronzing Compact

You know it’s getting awfully close to summer when Clarins release their summer collection, and this year it’s a beauty! The collection is called Aquatic Treasures, and the oversize compact features four bronzing shade, all embossed with a stunning coral detail which feels almost too pretty to use!

Clarins Aquatic Treasures Summer Bronzing Compact

I absolutely love how versatile the compact is – the four shades mean that you can tweak the colour depending on your look. Right now, since I’m paper-white I’ve been using the top two lightest shades, although once my complexion warms up a bit in the summer, I will be able to swirl over the whole palette whenever I need a bit of colour.

The texture of the bronzer is perfect – a silky smooth powder which gives an even touch of colour when I use my trusty MAC bronzer brush. The compact gives skin a believable warmth and glow which is perfect if you’re looking to feel a bit sun kissed, and there isn’t any sparkle so it’s great for wearing during the day. The wear-time of the bronzer is great too – I applied it in the morning as I was doing my makeup, and when I finished my day at 5 it was still going strong!

Clarins Aquatic Treasures Summer Bronzing Compact will launch next month, and is priced at £30.00

Clarins Relax Bath & Shower Concentrate*

Clarins Relax Bath & Shower Concentrate

To say this weekend has been stressful is something of an understatement. On Thursday night, just as I was preparing to head out with friends, my car just died. No error messages, no previous issues, just a hideous grinding noise anytime I tried to turn on the ignition. 5 hours, 2 tow trucks then 3 days at the garage have left me with a car that’s in the process of having 2 timing chains replaced. It’s the biggest of jobs, but I’ve just found out that BMW are finally dealing with it (thank god!)!!! So, as you can imagine, I’ve been trying to unwind every way I know how!

Clarins Relax Bath & Shower Concentrate 2

I’ve been spending copious amounts of time in the bath, trying to keep my mind off everything, and Clarins’ Relax Bath & Shower Concentrate has been absolutely integral to being able to get to sleep at night. It comes in an easy to use squeeze bottle, and you can use it either in the bath or shower, depending on your preference. Since I love a good soak, I’ve been using it pretty much exclusively in the bath. While the water is running, I use a generous squeeze, and it creates mountains of the most glorious bubbles.

Clarins Bath & Shower Concentrate 1

The scent of the Relax Bath & Shower Concentrate is absolutely glorious! It’s quite herbal, but as soon as I get a sniff of it, I can immediately feel myself starting to unwind. Basil, Camomile and Petit Grain all combine to to create a scent which feels like it’s been taken directly from a fancy spa.

The bath and shower concentrate is priced at £19.00 and is available here.

Clarins Relax Body Treatment Oil

So first things first, I want to apologise for the iffy posting this week. I’ve been hit with the most horrific head cold, so when I’ve not been trying to sleep it off, I’ve been trying to head outside and get some fresh air. Coupled with losing my voice, a sore throat and a nasty cough, I’ve not exactly been on top of my game!

So, in an effort to feel a little more human, I’ve been reaching for Clarins’ gorgeous Relax Body Treatment Oil every time I get out of the bath or shower. Packaged in a perfectly chic glass bottle, the oil is the most indulgent way to moisturise!

Clarins Relax Body Treatment Oil 2

Formulated with Rosemary, Geranium, and Mint, the scent is gorgeously luxe and spa-like. I’m obsessed with the formula of the oil – it’s incredibly rich and moisturising to use. I have been massaging it into my arms, chest and legs and using it made me feel so much better.

Clarins Relax Body Treatment Oil 3

I think taking a couple of minutes to really look after my skin made such a difference. The fragrance of the oil is completely heavenly, and I could still smell it on me hours after I had applied it. I’m also obsessed with the texture of the oil – it feels quite thick, but it just melts into skin without ever feeling too heavy or greasy. It also gives skin a  killer glow, so if you’re baring legs anytime soon, this is perfect for keeping everything silky smooth. I also used a little of the oil on my back and shoulders after using my BabyBelle, and honestly I felt like I had returned from an upscale spa!

Clarins Relax Body Oil costs £39.00 and is available here
