Clarins Autumn 2014 Ladylike Collection Eye Quartet Skin Tones Mineral Palette*

Clarins Autumn 2014 Eye Quartet Mineral Palette Lady Like Collection

Even though most of us are still soaking in the sun, Clarins have been super busy inventing what can only be described as the most flattering of eyeshadow palettes.

Clarins Autumn 2014 Eye Quartet Mineral Palette Lady Like Collection-2

The whole premise of Clarins’ Fall collection for 2014 is the idea of ladylike beauty. The Eye Quartet Mineral Palette is beautifully thought out – two brown shadows – one taupe, one beige are supported with a glittery dark brown shadow and a soft bone highlighter.

Clarins Autumn 2014 Eye Quartet Mineral Palette Lady Like Collection-3

Inspired by various skin tones, I can’t imagine anyone not falling completely in love with this palette. The shadows are all soft enough to blend beautifully, and the wear time is excellent. Like with all Clarins’ shadows, there is no problem with creasing. I tested out the shadows using the new illuminating base (review to come, so stay tuned!) and I couldn’t be happier with the results. For someone who seems to collect brown eyeshadows like I do, these have definitely become my new favorites. The simplicity of this palette is just perfect – if you’re currently in the market for a go-to, you must check this out!

For an easy yet elegant day look, I have been blending the soft beige shadow (top left) over my lid, with a little of the taupe (bottom right) in the crease. To create a more dramatic look for evening, I then line a little of the sparkly brown over my lash line, and continue it under my lower lashes to create a sort of V-shape, then a touch of the highlighter at my inner eyes and under my brows keep me looking perky. If that seems a little too subtle for you, since the shadows are all mineral-based, they can also be used wet for extra intensity.

Clarins Autumn 2014 Eye Quartet Mineral Palette Lady Like Collection-5

Like most Clarins’ eye palettes, the Skin Tones comes packaged in a glamorous golden compact. I love the old Hollywood glamour of the shiny case and the large mirror tucked in the lid is super convenient for on the go touch ups.

The palette will launch in August, and it will cost £32 US readers can find it here

Clarins Lip Balm Crayons*

Clarins Lip Crayons

I’m so glad that Clarins have brought out new Lip Balm Crayons this month as part of their summer collection. When it’s hot and sticky out, the last thing I want to reach for is a gloopy lipgloss or a semi-melted lipstick. Instead, Clarins’ Crayons are a genius mixture of a lipbalm-like formula with the sheen of a gloss and the colour of a lipstick. The chunky packaging means they’re easy to reach for my handbags, and you just twist them up to get more formula.

Clarins Lip Balm Crayons 04 Sweet Cherry

The range covers everything from a personalized pink (01 My Pink reviewed here) to a rich chocolatey brown. 04 Sweet Cherry, is perfect if you regularly rock a red lip. The crayon gives lips a wash of pinky-red with the perfect amount of shine. Since these are balm crayons, they don’t dry out lips like pigmented lipsticks do, and they are so easy for reapplications. When I’ve been out and about, I’ve also used 04 Sweet Cherry as a quick blush substitute, as it gives the most gorgeous hint of colour!

Clarins Lip Balm Crayons Creamy Pink

02 Creamy Pink is a go-to staple for easy everyday looks. This gives a sheer wash of colour, and it’s a great way to add a little polish to my usual routine. Even though the colour is quite natural, I can build it up easily, meaning it’s perfect if I want to inject a little colour too!

Clarins Lip Balm Crayon 06 Soft Coffee

Last up is 06 Soft Coffee, which is a stunning warm-toned brown. I can only imagine that this will be a holy grail natural for dark skinned girls, and for me it’s allowing me to put a toe into the 90’s brown lipstick trend. The colour looks so pretty with a swipe of bronzer and a little coral blush!

The crayons cost £18.00 and are available here (UK) and here (US)

Clarins Colours of Brazil Eye Palette*

Clarins Color of Brazil Eye Quartet

I have to give credit to Clarins, who season after season bring out the most drool-worthy collections which are both lust-worthy and stash must haves. Their summer collection is called ‘The Colours of Brazil’ and it’s the most perfect mix go-to neutrals with stunning pops of colour. The Quartet and Liner palette comes with the most beautiful lid – it’s super hard to photograph, but it’s a gold engraving underneath the transparent bronzed cover.

Once you get inside, there is the most perfect collection of four eyeshadows and a stunning pop of colour in the form of an electric blue eye liner.

Clarins Color of Brazil Eye Quartet 2

The compact is basically designed to be popped into summer luggage. The three brown shadows are natural and smoky eye staples. The colours are beautifully soft, and they are easily built up.

Clarins Color of Brazil Eye Quartet 6

There is then a stunning coral shadow. I’ve never seen a shadow like it! It is a soft, shimmery formula which adds a great amount of warmth without looking out of place. If you’ve got blue eyes, this is the colour for you!

The brightest shade in the palette is the electric blue liner. Creamy in consistency with the most amazing colour payoff, the model in the advertisements wears this to perfection! I can’t wait to get a golden glow, so I rock a slick of this with a natural bronzed look. It’s just so different from anything I own!

For being such a tidy little compact, Clarins have produced an incredible collection of shadows which allow you to create a whole host of looks!

The Quartet costs £32.00 and is available here (UK) and here (US)

Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfectors

Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfectors

I had to pop into Boots at the weekend to do one of those rather boring shops – cotton wool, tissues, you get the idea – it was wholly uninspiring. So when I was pottering past the Clarins counter and their Instant Light Lip Perfectors caught my eye, I was hooked!

I’m not sure why it’s taken me so long to get round to grabbing a couple of these, but I am so glad I finally have. The range comprising of six relatively muted (all very beautiful) shades which cover all the nude bases. The tubes are soft plastic, and you can squeeze them to get the formula through the little furry tops. The Perfectors have the dreamiest of formulas – they smell like vanilla, but thankfully don’t seem to have a flavor, and they have the perfect amount of shine.

Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfectors 1

I’ve been wearing them both daily (the lighter is 01 Rose Shimmer and the pinker is 04 Petal Shimmer) and they are as pretty used over lipsticks as they are on their own. Since I’m a big fan of natural lips anyway, these are a complete godsend of a product! These are absolutely perfect if you’re looking for something pretty for summer – they feel more like a balm, and there isn’t a touch of stickiness.

The Perfectors costs £18.00 and are available here.

New for this summer, Clarins has joined the chunky lip pencil party with their new Lip Balm Crayons.

The crayons are available in a range of 6 colours which range from a rich coffee to a super fun pink which reacts to your lips pH to give you a unique lip colour.

06 Soft Coffee is the darkest of the crayons, but don’t let that scare you – when applied it’s a glossy, warm toned brown which is perfect for darker skins and tans. The finish of the crayon is beautifully glossy, and it feels so nourishing to wear!

05 Delicious plum is a warm, pinky brown, which again has a great amount of shine when worn. This is definitely an amplified nude, and it just makes me feel so polished when I wear it.

03 Tender Coral is a lip colour which is just made for summer. The formula has a subtle golden shimmer running through it, and the coral is a beautiful change from the pinks I regularly reach for. Like the other crayons, 03 has a perfect glossy sheen, and the colour can easily built up if you need to amp up your lip.

01 My Pink is possibly my favourite, purely down to the fun factor of it. Like the other crayons, this feels perfectly balmy, and the pointed tip means application is an absolute breeze, but what sets 01 apart is no-one is going to be rocking the same lipcolour as you! Reacting with your lips pH balance, the balm gives you a personal colour. Mine is a gorgeous light pink which is perfect for day-to-day wear, and this hasn’t left my makeup bag since it popped through the doors!

If, like me you’re keen on sheer colours and a glossy finish, you should definitely check out the crayons. The colours are absolutely beautiful, and the balmy consistency feel absolutely perfect for the summer!

The crayons cost £18.00 each and are available here
