Kiehl’s on Wheels hits Edinburgh*

DSC_0689Last week, on a rare sunny evening, I meandered over to George Street after work to check out the most colourful display on George Street. Kiehl’s brand new bus rolled into town a week or so ago, and has been providing the city with the best beauty products ever since.

Considering I use and adore at least five separate Kiehl’s every morning, it was a no brainer that I would head down and see what the brand was up to, plus it’s always fun to go to blogger events. Kiehl’s, I’m glad to say, didn’t disappoint – with the most adorable picnic benches laden with goodie bags, it was so lovely to meet some Edinburgh-based bloggers.

After some introductions, as well as a snoop around the Kiehl’s bus (it’s packed with brand favourites for skin, hair and body) it was time for the evening to begin. We packed into the benches, and got to grips with learning all about the best of what Kiehl’s have to offer.

Jennifer (from Tartan Brunette) bravely volunteered to be the model for the evening, letting Kiehl’s expert Holly demonstrate how to best use and apply each product.

Starting right from the basics, we sniffed, rubbed and patted in a whole shelf of products, falling harder in love each time. There were a tonne of old favourites, including many which I use on a daily basis, but getting to try out products like the Ultra Facial Cleanser, means that my wish list has grown rather long since last week!

There was a lucky-dip prize at the end of the evening, which the very lucky (and lovely) Emma from unf4bul0us won, and we all toddled home, clutching our groaning Kiehl’s bags. Very kindly, we were treated to a mix of hero products as well as some treats from a Scottish pop-up across the street, which I’ve been using ever since – I’d forgotten how great Kiehl’s old-school lip balm is! There was also a full size bottle of the new Cactus Flower Hydrating Mist, which is super handy, as I’ve blown through half of my first bottle already!

The bus will be chilling in the middle of George Street for the next week or so, and then is starts up it’s travels again. So, if you hear it’s heading down your way, pop in, say hello, and treat yourself to something lovely!

Thank you to Holly, Kiehl’s and Kiehl’s on Wheels for having me!

Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Mask*

Kiehl's Turmeric and Cranberry Seed Energizing Mask

I hope the weather has been as good with you as it has been up in Edinburgh. It’s been glorious here for the past week, and it finally feels like Spring has sprung! This means that my make up taken a decidedly lighter turn, and I’ve been loving wearing a light base with a really glowy feel. As much as I love a good highlighter, the main part of the look is having super clear skin.

To achieve this, I’ve been reaching for Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Mask. It’s a new release from the brand, which promises that the mask is an instant facial. It’s the perfect solution if your skin has been feeling a little blah, or you want some extra radiance. Personally, I love it because it feels like real multi-tasking product that you can just pop on, relax for twenty minutes then rinse off, then you’re free to enjoy super soft, clear and radiant skin.

I’ve seen a tonne of turmeric mask ideas on Pinterest, as it’s been known to be great for skin for generations, so Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Mask is definitely the easiest way to try it out! I’ve been applying the mask twice a week to freshly cleansed skin. At first, there is a menthol-freshness that feels both tingly and cooling on the skin, and as you rub it in, the formula’s cranberry seeds provide a gentle amount of exfoliation. Then I leave it to harden slightly for 20-30 minutes. I have to say, it’s a hilarious yellow colour, which does tend to stain white towels, but apart from that, the mask is pretty much flawless. After washing off, my skin feels incredibly soft and smooth and it looks like I really have treated myself to a pricey spa treatment. The fact that I can slap a little on whenever my skin is feeling a little blah feels like such a treat!

Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Mask is priced at £28.00and is available here (UK) and here (US)

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream*

DSC_0530

Over the past month or so, the weather in Scotland has been nothing short of crazy. We’ve had wind, rain and snow, and basically every sort of awful weather you can think of. It’s not been pleasant, and I swear that my hair hasn’t stayed straight all day in weeks! But even worse than fuzzy strands, is the damage this kind of climate can wreak on sensitive skin like mine. At the best of times, the outdoors has a real effect on my complexion, so when it’s as extreme as it has been, I really need a product that with protect and nourish skin like nothing else. Thankfully, I’ve found that Kiehl’s iconic Ultra Facial Cream is just the thing to keep my skin calm and moisturized.

DSC_0534

I’ve kept a tub of this magical cream handy for what seems like years. It’s a real ‘old faithful,’ and I know that no matter how sensitized my skin is, the Ultra Facial Cream will soothe and heal it. The cream itself has a really light consistency – and it absolutely melts into skin. I massage a little of it on after a few drops of Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate (read about it here) and within a minute or two, my skin feels so soft and ready for makeup. The cream itself is scentless, and promises 24 hour moisture thanks to the plant extracts within the formula, and despite being so hydrating, my skin never feels like it’s too rich or leaves my skin oily or greasy.

If you’re looking for a new springtime staple, you must try out Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream.

It’s priced at £24.00 and is available here.

Kiehl’s Creme de Corps Whipped Body Butter*

DSC_0539

I can’t even tell you how long I’ve been wanting to try Kiehl’s Whipped Body Butter – so when the postman arrived bearing one of the rather generously sized tubs, saying I was delighted was an understatement. What made the surprise even nicer was the fact that the tub is part of the Limited Edition Peter Max Holiday Collection, as is adored with the artist’s signature psychedelic illustrations. If you fancy your own arty tub, you can still get your hands on them in-store (I know the Edinburgh Kiehl’s store still has a couple!)DSC_0546

So, the fact that I had been lusting after the Creme de Corps Whipped Body Butter, and the fact that the tub is just gorgeous, meant I had rather high expectations for the stuff. And I’m glad to say, they were met and wholly surpassed! It might sound odd being so effusive about a moisturizer, but this stuff is holy grail worthy, and I’m not quite sure how I managed along without it!

DSC_0548

The tub itself is a generous 226g, and the formula is so rich and nourishing, you only need a couple of finger-fulls of the stuff for your entire body. The butter is rich in Shea Butter and Jojoba Oil to really nourish skin, leaving it incredibly soft and nourished. The Body Butter also smells seriously incredible – the mix of soy milk and honey give a rich, slightly sweet scent which lingers on the skin. It’s the yummiest fragrance, which has a slight almond/coconut feel to it. It’s delicious!

DSC_0562

Even more than the gorgeous fragrance or the serious moisturizing properties, I am just in love with the Whipped Body Butter’s Texture. Despite a seriously rich formula, the air whipped consistency means the moisturizer is a complete dream to apply, and my skin just drinks it up! Within a minute or two of application, it’s sunk in, meaning I can get dressed without having to worry about sticky limbs or staining delicate fabrics. My skin feels absolutely amazing after using the butter too! My legs and arms just feel so soft and cared for – I am just in love!

Kiehl’s Creme de Corps Whipped Body Butter is priced at £36 and is available here

Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate*

Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate 1

Since I told you all about my love for Kiehls’ Midnight Recovery Eye yesterday, I thought it would be nice to add what I’ve been using in the mornings. One of Kiehl’s newest products, the Daily Reviving Concentrate has been specifically designed to work as a morning counterpart to their Midnight Concentrate, and I’m rather smitten with it!

Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate 2

Packaged in a sunny yellow bottle complete with dropper top, you only need the tiniest amount, which I press into freshly cleansed skin. Even though the thought of applying an oil before your makeup sounds insane, Kiehl’s have formulated the Daily Reviving Concentrate to be incredibly lightweight, and my skin just drinks it up! After pressing the oil into my skin, I just apply my moisturiser as normal, and I can’t believe the difference in my skin!

Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate 3

Despite the delicate texture, Kiehl’s have included a seriously concentrated blend of naturally derived ingredients including Ginger Root Essential Oils, Tamanu and Sunflower Seed Botanical Oils. It’s these ingredients which creates a barrier against all the pollutants we come across during our days, including the oxidation caused by UVA/UVB rays, poor air quality and even stress. It strengthens the skin’s barrier against these to keep a youthful looking appearance, and the ginger root oil protects and soothes skin, whilst sunflower seed oil, hydrates and smooths and tamanu oil locks moisture into the skin.

Have you tried any Kiehl’s skincare before?

Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate is priced at £32.40 (on offer right now!) and is available here (UK) and here (US)
