I think Mavala polishes were the first that I truly got obsessed with – the beauty salon my mother used to go to had a huge stand of them, and every time I went with her, I got to pick a polish to take home. There was just the most wonderful selection of colours, and at that point they were all named after capital cities, so that added a bit of glamour too!
I don’t think I’ve had a Mavala polish since I was about eight, so when a few of their gorgeous 2015 Garden Garden Collection came through the letterbox, I was more than a little excited! 271 Jasmin is possibly my favourite of the collection – a stunning neutral pink which is perfect for day-to-day wear. The dinky little bottle is perfect for people like me who chop and change their nails on a regular basis, and never end up finishing bottles. The formula of the polish was near on perfect – it was smooth and creamy to apply, and it was fully opaque in three coats. Even with a quick slick of base and top coats, there wasn’t a single bubble once the polish dried, and I absolutely adore the colour! I’ve already purchased a spare, as it is just the most perfect baby pink. On the nail, it looks fresh, clean, and perfect for summer, and there is even the most subtle micro shimmer which only shows once the polish is dry.
I’m so glad I’ve returned to Mavala!
271 Jasmin is priced at £4.75 and is available here.
