Ok, so hair removal is never going to be a glamorous process, but it can be super easy with Sweetease Waxing Strips!
Coming in a variety of packets which reflect where you want to wax, Sweetease strips have to be the easiest way to stay hair free! To use, all you have to do is clean the area that you want to wax, then warm up the waxing strips. The brand recommend rubbing the wax strips between your hands until the wax becomes warm, but I’ve found the easiest (and quickest) way to heat them up is to give them a quick blast with a hair dryer. Then all you need to do, is separate the strips, apply to skin and smooth down, and pull off.
I love how easy and tidy the strips are to use, and Sweetease even include incredibly easy to follow instructions – so you really can’t go wrong! Of course, waxing isn’t always going to be completely painless, but as long as you pull up the strips quickly, they aren’t too bad at all! I love using the strips for areas like my legs and eyebrows – I don’t need to bother going into the salon, and if I’m going out at the last minute I don’t need to worry about covering up my legs. I also love the fact that Sweetease include cleansing wipes, so you’re not left feeling sticky after waxing!
Sweetease Wax Strips are priced from £3.99 and are available from Superdrug
I’m not sure quite why, but the moment the leaves start to turn, I tend to abandon my legions of lip glosses, and head squarely for lipsticks. I think there is something so lovely about wearing a richer lip colour in Autumn’s golden light, Clarins have just relaunched their Joli Rouge lipstick collection, and I couldn’t be more in love.
Packaged in movie-star worthy golden tubes, these lipsticks just ooze glamour, and I’ve been absolutely loving trying out the variety of shades.
The colours in line up range from the vampiest oxblood to beautiful, easy to wear nudes, and the formulas are absolutely dreamy. They feel light, and balm-like to wear, and the fruity scent is such fun!
I’ll be sharing more in-depth individual colour reviews this week, but if you can’t wait that long, you can find Clarins’ Joli Rouge lipsticks here (UK) and here (US)
Even though I’m somewhat of a polish collector (or hoarder, depending on how you look at things), my colours tend to fall neatly into three categories: neutrals, darks and vibrant pinks. I’m not sure if it’s just force of habit, but a lot of my colours can look quite samey.
So, you can imagine how beautifully Mavala’s stunning new Smily Orange 277 stood out amongst the rest of my collection. The colour really is summer in a bottle! I tend to use three coats of the polish to create an opaque effect, but since it has a jelly finish, you can easily control how much colour you get. The formula applied smoothly, and with a top coat, was beautifully even and shiny. I have to say, Mavala are seriously impressing me right now! I got four days of wear before I noticed any tip wear, and I can’t even tell you how many compliments I got on the colour!
Mavala Smily Orange 277 is priced at £4.75 and is available here
