RMK Casual Solid Foundation*

RMK Casual Solid Foundation

I’m not sure there is anything quite as flattering as a flawless base when I’m trying to create a makeup look that feels both effortless and polished. I hate looking like I’m wearing anything on my skin, but rather I just want everything to be evened out, with a bit of a luminous glow. Not much to ask right?!?!

RMK Casual Solid Foundation 2

RMK’s Casual Solid Foundation is one of my favourite new finds, as I love everything about it from the slightly space-age silver compact to the flawless formulas hidden inside. When you first peek inside, the Casual Solid Foundation looks like any other, but the texture is an amazing solid, which can be applied easily in sheer flattering layers using my trusty Beauty Blender. On the left side of the palette is the foundation. It sits in that perfect position between sheer and blend-able, which means if my skin is looking good, I just need a quick swipe to even my colouring, and if I do have a break out I can add a little more for some fuller coverage.

The colour on the right side is a subtle highlighter, which is basically health in an easy to use compact form. When you’re choosing your foundation colour, you can decide on whether a silver or gold toned highlighter is best for your skin, and since I err on the warm side, I chose gold. After applying my foundation, I dab a little of the highlighter across my cheekbones, brow bones, down my nose and in the bit above my lip. It serves as giving your base more dimension than a regular foundation. I love the combination of the two formulas, and the highlighter really gives skin a natural looking glow, rather than being shiny, glittery or frosty.

Once I’ve applied my base, that’s it! I don’t even need to think about it for the rest of the day. It controls any shine, and even after a long day out and about, my base still looked fresh. As you can probably tell – I’m hooked!

RMK Casual Foundation Case is priced at £14.00 and the Casual Solid Foundation Refill is priced at £15.00 both are available here.

RMK Skintuner Smoother Light*

RMK Skintuner Smoother Light

So when it comes to skincare, it’s not often that a completely new product pops through the door, and you can bet when I got my hands on RMK’s Skintuner Smoother Light I got rather excited!

RMK Skin Tuner Smoother 2

Packaged in a gloriously chic, sparkly, slight space age tube, RMK’s Skintuner Smoother Light promises to perfect skin, through tightening pores, exfoliating rough skin and sealing in moisture. It’s a lot to ask from a single tube, but RMK’s Skintuner Smoother is really something special! I’ve been using the Skintuner Smoother Light most mornings as its such a lovely product to use. Once I’m out of the shower, I pat my face dry then use 2-3 pumps of the smoother, and press it into my skin. The Skintuner Smoother has a super light consistency which feels almost like water. I

can only imagine how amazing this product would be in a hot and humid climate! I love the delicate scent which has notes of lavender and lemon, and my skin feels really nourished when I use the product. I’ve been using the Skintuner Smoother for a couple of weeks, and I can definitely see an improvement in my skin. For a start, it stays hydrated throughout the day, and I don’t need to worry about dryness kicking in the afternoon. Secondly, I feel like my skin feels a whole lot clearer and brighter, and my skin feels super smooth too! Since my skin can get a little dry, I follow the Skintuner Smoother with my daily moisturiser and I feel like my face stays nicely hydrated all day!

RMK Skintuner Smoother Light costs £32.00 and is available here.

RMK Separate Curl Mascara*

RMK Separate Curl Mascara

Can you believe we’re in February already? I feel like such an old person when I say how fast the year is going, but seriously, February?! So I thought I would ring in the month with an absolutely awesome mascara which is the perfect choice if you’re planning on fluttering lashes at someone special this month.

RMK Separate Curl Mascara 1

Packaged in a shiny silver tube, RMK’s Separate Curl Mascara is designed to catch even the shortest lashes, combing them to curl them with a glossy, jet-black waterproof formula. Unlike a lot mascaras I’ve tried, RMK’s brush feels quite small, so it’s incredibly easy to use, and it really doesn’t miss a lash. The formula is gorgeously glossy, and the fact that it’s waterproof, means that you look picture perfect all day! I love the boost that the mascara gives my lashes, and it’s as pretty when worn alone as it is as part of a smoky eye.

RMK Separate Curl Mascara is priced at £23.00 and is available here.

RMK Lip Crayon 06*

This year, one of my beauty resolutions is to be a little more daring when it comes to makeup. Out of ease and convenience, I usually pick a range of pinky neutrals to wear in everything from my nail varnish to my lipgloss. Thankfully, RMK has made is rather easy to head for the bright side with their stunning Lip Crayon in shade 06.

06 seems to be quite a hard shade to track down online, but oh my is it worth it! Like of of RMK’s Lip Crayons, it is packaged is a slick black tube, with a twist up bullet of colour. Even though it looks like it’s super bright, the formula is perfectly balmy feeling, give lips a covering of sheer red. It’s the perfect transition shade if you’re getting used to wearing colour (a bit like me) or if you want a pop of colour in the day time.

Thanks to the shape of the crayon, it functions like a lipstick and liner in one, and I’m in love with the incredibly pretty gloss finish. The hint of sparkle in the formula makes the shade feel fresh and perfect for the approaching Spring (not to mention Valentines!).

I’ve found an RMK crayon priced at £14.59 here.

RMK Eye Balm*

RMK Eye Balm

For someone who isn’t technically ‘old’, I’ve been a fan of eye creams for a while. I’m very much into the idea of prevention rather than cures, so whenever a new sort of product plops through the letter box, I can hardly stop myself from tearing open the box and smearing some on.

RMK Eye Balm and Spoon

RMK is a luxury Japanese brand and I’ve been intrigued by their offerings for a while; so I thought that the Eye Balm would be a perfect place to start! It comes packaged in a rather glamorous silver tub, complete with spoon and detailed instructions for a facial massage, since my skin dries out in the winter, I couldn’t wait to dig in!

The balm itself is colourless and without a strong scent, and feels almost like a lip balm when being scraped up. RMK recommend using about a grain of rice per eye, and since it is such a rich product, you only need the tiniest amount. Since the temperature has plummeted (seriously, there was snow) I have noticed that the skin around my eyes was feeling a little delicate, so the balm couldn’t have come at a better time! The formula contains both Baobab Oil and Argan Oil to nourish and hydrate the sensitive area.

Once you’ve scraped a little from the tub, you can warm it with your fingers to let it sink in more easily. Since my eyes can get hot and puffy, I usually just apply the balm straight from the spoon. The whole ritual of massaging the balm in, feels incredibly relaxing, and the cold temperature of the spoon works wonders on my eye bags! The end of it also has a little rounded ball which is perfect for massaging my temples for a rather spa-like experience.

Along with the balm and spoon, RMK also provide an incredibly easy to follow guide for how to properly use the eye balm. It only takes an extra few minutes, and I can’t tell you how relaxing it feels to really just switch off and enjoy it. I think that at this time of year especially, it’s so easy to stress over basically everything, but RMK have come up with one of my favourite eye products ever!
