Rodial Blusher – South Beach*

Up until a couple of months ago, I thought Rodial was a skincare-only brand that concentrated on producing seriously effective products which looked as good as their promises, but then I got invited into Harvey Nichols where I promptly fell in love with the entire range.

Right in time for the gorgeous weather we’ve been enjoying in Scotland, Rodial very kindly sent over their stunning Blusher in South Beach, and to say I’ve been infatuated is something of an understatement! Firstly, the packaging is really something special. Rodial haven’t scrimped with a boring old compact, instead this one is a super slick mix of leather and silver, with a rather large shiny ‘R’ that just screams glamour. It feels lovely to hold, and there isn’t a chance of it getting ignored in my makeup bag. It also shuts with a rather pleasing magnetic snap, so I don’t need to worry about it popping over and crumbling everywhere.

Rodial’s Blusher comes in two colours – Copacabana, a hot orange toned coral, and mine, South Beach, a beautiful baby pink that feels absolutely perfect for spring! I’m not sure about you, but since the weather has taken a turn for the better, I’ve been reaching for some brighter colours than usual (living in Scotland means 90% of my wardrobe is black, grey and navy) and as a result, I’ve been reaching for South Beach to give my complexion a believable pop of colour.

As if the packaging and absolutely stunning colour wasn’t enough, I’m glad to say the formula is absolute perfection! It’s a very lightweight powder, and it leaves a really natural looking flush on the skin. It’s designed to leave you looking radiant, so even if you pop a little more than usual, or if you like to build colour, Rodial won’t let you down! It’s staying power is really impressive. I swirl a little on the apples of my cheeks in the mornings, and by end of day I still have a pretty amount of flush. I can guarantee that I’ll be reaching for this all the way through the summer!

Rodial South Beach Blusher is priced at £30.00 and is available here.

Rodial Dragon’s Blood XXL Advanced Sculpting Serum*

I always think that Rodial is one of those brands that just makes you feel special. From their awesome names to products which work insanely well, they always produce the most special of products. The new Dragon’s Blood XXL Advanced Sculpting Serum is no different.

The name is taken from a  Croton Lechleri tree, known locally as the Dragon Blood tree, which is historically used for medicinal and healing purposes. The formula mixes all this goodness with hyaluronic acid, wheat proteins, hema’tite, tetrapeptide-6 and red snow algae which all work together to taught skin, hydrate it, and leaving it looking beautifully glowy.

Like all Rodial products I’ve tried, the ingredients are potent, so you only need the teeniest squeeze of the serum every morning. I’ve been applying it to freshly cleansed skin prior to my moisturiser, and my skin has really been feeling the benefits. I absolutely love the lightweight feel of the serum, and it just disappears into the skin without leaving it feeling tacky or oil. Instead, my skin feels like it’s been given an extra dose of nutrition and moisture, and my makeup just seems to glide on, on top of it.Using the Dragon’s Blood XXL Advanced Serum just feels like having a super-good skin day. It’s amazing for perking up tired eyes right up, and it makes skin look so fresh and youthful.

Will you be trying Rodial’s Dragon’s Blood XXL Advanced Serum?

It’s priced at £125.00 and is available here (UK) and here (US)

Rodial Beauty at Harvey Nichols Edinburgh*

Rodial Harvey Nichols Edinburgh

So Rodial might be a brand which is well known for beauty products with rather catchy names which deliver results. So, when I found out that they had a makeup range, I got rather excited! What I didn’t realise is, that, for the past year or so, Harvey Nichols in London have been selling the range, and it’s been rather successful. Thankfully, for those of us living a little further north, Harvey Nichols Edinburgh have a  brand new counter devoted to the brand’s makeup, so when I was kindly invited to get my makeup done I absolutely jumped at the chance!

The makeup collection is a wonderfully curated set of must-haves which include a super light Instaglam Skin Tint which is basically an Instagram filter in a tube and an Airbrush Concealer which makes any imperfections completely disappear without looking or feeling heavy. I opted for an easy to recreate natural look, and I just love how subtle the products were, and I completely fell in love with the Glamstick Lipstick in Bite. It’s the perfect nude colour, and it feels incredible on the lips!

As if getting my makeup done wasn’t amazing enough, I was very kindly gifted a goodie bag filled with some of the brand’s incredible skincare. I love how generously sized they are – I’ve been getting over a week’s worth of use out of them, and I’m absolutely head over heels for them!

Getting to try out products like the Pink Diamond Instant Lifting Serum is such a thrill. The full size bottle is a rather splurge-worthy £250.00, so getting to use the serum at home is a lovely luxury!  The Bee Venom Cleansing Balm and Super Serum are a gorgeous little duo too! They smell incredible, and are such a lovely way to feel awake in the mornings!

Thank you so much to Rodial and Harvey Nichols Edinburgh for having me!

Rodial Glamtox Night*

Rodial Glamtox Night

Saying that I’ve got a night cream on my dressing table makes me feel both grown up and old in equal parts. The organised part of me likes the fact that there is a silver tub which I can rely on night after night, whilst the rest of me just feels a bit old. Happily though, Rodial’s Glamtox Night comes in such a gorgeous silver jar, I fell in love at first sight!

Before I even get started on the formula itself, I just love the pump-top applicator. It feels super hygienic to use, and I don’t need to fuss with lids and caps once I get into bed, instead I just use a pump or two, and smooth it over cleansed skin. Described as a ‘revolutionary night treatment’ Glamtox Night promises to fade hyperpigmenation, reduce pore size and plump the skin, all whilst I’m catching up on beauty sleep. Genius!

Rodial Glamtox Night 2

Unlike many night creams and treatments I’ve tried before, Glamtox Night has a gorgeously light texture which simply melts into skin. It feels cooling and hydrating to apply, and it really soothes any dryness or irritation I’ve been suffering from. I am also absolutely obsessed with the fragrance – I would bathe in the stuff! It’s a light floral with notes of Orange Blossom and Moringa, and it’s absolutely heavenly to apply! Once I’ve applied a light layer to my face, neck and décolletage, I can simply pop off to bed, and not have to worry about my skin or tomorrow! The mornings after I’ve used Glamtox night, I wake up with skin which feels super soft and smooth. I’ve really noticed a difference in the redness I can suffer from, and my skin just feels super cared for and nourished!

Rodial’s Glamtox Night is priced at £90.00 and is available here

Rodial Dragon’s Blood Hyaluronic Mask*

Rodial Dragon's Blood Hyaluronic mask

No matter how hard I try, my skin has a tendency to err on the dry side, so when I’m travelling I take extra care to keep it as hydrated as possible.

Rodial’s rather snazzily named Dragon’s Blood Hyaluronic Mask may sound like it belongs on Game of Thrones, but in fact it is a must-have, if, like me, you want skin which feels baby soft, smooth and healthy. The name is derived from ingredients  including the red sap of the ‘sangre de drago’ tree, and the Hyaluronic Acid works to plump fine lines and wrinkles, whilst providing much needed comfort to dehydrated skin. What makes this mask ideal for me (you know, apart from being seriously hydrating) is that it fights redness too. So after using, my skin doesn’t just feel amazing, it looks a whole lot calmer too!

I’ve been using the Dragon’s Blood Hyaluronic Mask every night, and I have to say, I’m seriously impressed! The formula feels almost like a light gel, and it soaks into skin almost immediately, I’m also in love with the scent. It falls somewhere between orange blossom and moringa so it feels wonderfully luxurious to use! Rodial say that you can either tissue off excess formula after 10 minutes, or leave it on overnight, and I’ve been faithfully doing the latter. In the mornings, my skin feels soft and smooth, and I’ve not had a hint of any dryness or tightness!

Rodial’s Dragon’s Blood Hyaluronic Mask is priced at £27 (normally £39) and is available here (UK) and here (US).
