SK-II Facial Treatment Oil*

SK-II Facial Treatment Oil

To say that I’m a fan of facial oils is something of an understatement. I’ve worn them pretty religiously for the past couple of years, so I jumped at the chance to give SK-II’s brand new Facial Treatment Oil!

SK-II Facial Treatment Oil 1

It’s a brand new release from the brand, who promise that it both nourishes and smoothes dry skin. As someone with skin that tends to feel parched far too regularly, I couldn’t even wait to try the Facial Treatment Oil before photographing it!

Packaged in a super-chic frosted glass bottle, I love how simple and paired down it is. It looks so glamorous sitting in my little bedtime skincare set, and it’s become one of my most-loved products to use every evening (and even some mornings!).

Like the rest of the SK-II range, the Facial Treatment Oil treats skin with the brand’s key ingredient – Pitera. It sounds like something out of a fairytale, but the anti-aging properties of Pitera were only discovered when an SK-II official noticed that the hands of men who worked in Sake production looked incredibly youthful. The result was finding out about Pitera’s somewhat magical properties, and they’ve been included in SK-II products ever since.

The magic of Pitera is included in the Facial Treatment Oil, as well as naturally-derived Mediterranean olive oil, Latin American jojoba oil, South African avocado oil, Japanese Riceterol Ester, rice bran oil, and squalene which all work together to deeply moisturise and nourish the skin.

As you can see, the Facial Oil is a bi-phase formula, which means before using you do need to give the bottle a little shakeup to mix everything together. Like I said, I’ve been using it nightly, pressing a few drops into freshly cleansed skin. Thanks to the bottle top, it’s incredibly easy to ration out a few droplets which I then apply all over my face, neck and décolletage.

I just love the subtle lavender and carrot scent which is so unlike my other products. I am also completely in love with the oil’s texture. Unlike others which can feel too slippery, SK-II’s is surprisingly thicker than most, but sinks in like an absolute dream. My skin absolutely drinks it up, and if I’m looking for a dewy foundation look, I press a drop into my cheekbones for a subtle glow.

SK-II Facial Treatment Oil is priced at £102 and is available here (UK) and here (US)

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence*

SKII Facial Treatment Essence 2

SK-II is one of those brands I just drool over. Every product sounds pretty much life changing, and the reviews back them up, so when this special edition of their iconic Facial Treatment Essence came through the letterbox, I was more than a little excited!

Decorated with gorgeous red butterflies, the bottle is a special edition released exclusively to Harrods for the Holidays. You can choose from three colours (red, pink and blue) and they all have the most wonderful meanings. My red butterflies symbolise the ‘passion, courage, and boldness it takes for a woman to take control and change her destiny,’ which is a lovely little addition to a rather wonderful product!

SKII Facial Treatment Essence 1

The Facial Treatment Essence comes packaged in a huge 215ml brushed glass bottle, and it’s really something special. In my household, it’s become known as the ‘magic water’ because it’s so wonderful to use! After cleansing, I simply shake a few drops of the essence into my palms and press it into my face and neck. The formula is a touch thicker than regular water, but it feels so light and fretting to use, it’s perfect for waking my skin up in the morning.

The formula of the Facial Treatment Essence contains over 90% Pitera, an ingredient discovered by SK-II over 30 years ago which is hailed as something of a miracle worker! Discovered when the brand noticed the incredibly youthful hands of older Sake Brewers, Pitera is filled of vitamins, minerals and amino acids which work together to encourage skin’s natural surface rejuvenation.

SKII Facial Treatment Essence 6

Since the formula is so lightweight and pure, I have been applying it directly to my cleansed skin, and then leaving it to sink in. I then apply my moisturiser and makeup as normal, and I am absolutely in love with the results! In addition to feeling heavenly to apply, I’ve noticed that the Facial Treatment Essence has really calmed my skin down. If you suffer from breakouts or acne, just press a little of the Essence directly onto it, and wait for the results!

SKII Facial Treatment Essence 5

After only a couple of days I really noticed a reduction in redness, and a breakout I had was nearly gone. I think it’s safe to say that SK-II’s Facial Treatment Essence has become one of my HG products!

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence is priced at £140 and is available exclusively here

SK-II Facial Treatment Mask*

SK-II Facial Treatment Mask

Over the past couple of years, Korean skincare has really taken a hold of the beauty world. In the past, face masks have always just consisted of creams and gels which are applied and then washed off, leaving your skin either cleansed, hydrated or toned. I think SK-II was the first sheet mask I ever read about, and I’ve been dying to try them out ever since! facial-treatment-mask

After cleansing, I simply applied the mask and lay back. I have it admit, it’s hilariously terrifying, so it’s best to enjoy the mask in private. It couldn’t be easier to use though – the mask is comprised of cotton which has been soaked in Pitera™. This formula is designed to provide serious levels of moisturisation, resulting in a visibly radiant and crystal clear complexion. Before I used the mask, I popped it in the fridge for a few hours, and it felt lovely and soothing to enjoy. I left the mask on for a good half an hour, and when I took it off, my skin felt super calmed and smooth, and the next morning I could still really see the difference. Since the masks all come individually packaged, it means they are perfect for travelling, especially if like me, your skin freaks out the moment you hit 20,000ft!

SK-II Facial Treatment Masks are priced at £60.00 for a pack of 6 and are available here (UK) and here (US).
