As someone with, what can sometimes feel like perpetually dry skin, finding a day cream which leaves me feeling both hydrated and a little dewy, without straying too far into greasy territory can sometimes feel like a bit of a task. I like creams which feel nourishing and hydrating, and which my skin can drink up, but nothing that’s too heavy, so I was so excited to try Dr. Darren McKeown’s Stop Skincare Day Cream.
I’ve been absolutely loving the rest of the skincare line, and happily, the Day Cream is no different. In the morning, after cleansing, I’ve been applying a little of the Day Cream prior to my makeup, and have just been loving the results! The cream itself has a lovely texture, which just sinks without leaving any tackiness or fragrance, and my skin just drinks it up. There isn’t a fragrance, but Dr. Mckeown has cleverly included light-reflecting particles, which leave skin looking so fresh! It’s such a clever touch, and it really makes a difference once all my makeup goes on – it gives a subtle glow that I’m sure we’re all after! The cream also keeps skin hydrated throughout the day – meaning no dry patches for makeup to go blotchy on. Genius!
Stop Skincare Day Cream is priced at £40.00 and is available here.
A few weeks back, Harvey Nichols kindly invited me to meet with Dr. Darren Mckeown, one of the country’s leading facial aestheticians. Tucked up in the personal shopping suite, I learned all about Dr. Mckeown’s new skincare line which is being sold exclusively at Harvey Nichols, and I have fallen absolutely in love with it!
What’s so special about the Stop Skincare range, is that it’s designed to prevent ageing, rather than fix what’s already been done. He’s designed the range for skin that’s not quite ready for the big-time anti-ageing which most products provide, but Stop still treats and nourishes skin.
Getting to sit and chat with Dr. Mckeown was such a treat. He couldn’t have been nicer or more knowledgeable about the entire skincare line, and I even chatted about what kind of procedures I’d been thinking about. After learning that preventative Botox might do more harm than good, I trotted home, armed with Stop Skincare and a resolve to really baby my skin. The Night Cream was the first of the products I tried, and I have to say, it’s quickly become a real favourite. The consistency of the cream feels so rich and nourishing, but it doesn’t overwhelm skin. Instead, it just leaves my face feeling soft and nourished.
I’ve been trying out a whole range of products, so stay tuned for more from Stop Skincare – spoiler alert, it’s awesome!
